European enterprises are entering a new era of Workday maturity, leveraging AI and automation to optimize daily operations and deliver measurable business outcomes. According to the 2025 ISG Provider Lens® Workday Ecosystem report, organizations across the continent are successfully integrating AI-driven capabilities into the cloud-based Workday platform to accelerate hiring, financial processes, and ESG performance.

  • ISG report finds European firms shifting from implementation to optimization of Workday.

  • Companies use Workday’s AI agents for hiring, payroll verification, and compliance workflows.

  • ESG integration strengthens data-driven sustainability reporting.

  • Workday’s localized, mobile-first design enhances employee experience and retention.

  • Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, Kainos, and Cognizant named top Leaders in ISG’s 2025 report.

  • Invisors recognized as CX Star Performer for exceptional customer satisfaction.

Europe’s Evolving Workday Strategy

The report, issued by Information Services Group (ISG), highlights how Workday is evolving from a deployment focus to a strategic enabler of continuous improvement and value creation. Most enterprises have completed migration and are now optimizing their Workday systems to achieve cross-functional agility.

“Enterprises across Europe are entering a new phase of Workday maturity,” said Stacey Cadigan, Partner, ISG Human Capital Management and Enterprise Transformation. “They are no longer focused on initial implementation but on measurable results. The emphasis has shifted to continuous improvement and creation of value.”

AI Becomes Central to Enterprise Operations

ISG’s findings reveal a rapid shift from exploratory AI use to enterprise-wide adoption. Companies now deploy Workday’s agentic AI for tasks including conversational hiring, payroll verification, audit automation, and regulatory compliance. These AI agents perform multistep workflows that improve accuracy while reducing manual intervention.

Governance frameworks built into Workday ensure data consistency, security, and accountability, enabling enterprises to maintain compliance across multination operations. Providers further assist with regional configurations tailored to local regulations and languages.

Enhancing Employee Experience with Localization

Employee experience has become a critical area of investment. European companies are leveraging Workday’s self-service and mobile-first tools to empower employees to manage HR and financial tasks seamlessly. Localization features simplify onboarding and workforce management across multiple languages and cultures.

As ISG notes, improved digital accessibility leads to tangible benefits. Retail and hospitality companies report lower early attrition through localized onboarding, while professional services firms see higher internal mobility and engagement through personalized dashboards.

ESG and Sustainability Integration

In line with Europe’s growing focus on environmental and social governance, organizations are increasingly embedding ESG analytics directly into their HR and finance models. This integration, powered by Workday’s unified data framework, enables leadership teams to monitor progress against carbon reduction, diversity, and governance benchmarks in real-time.
As Gaurang Pagdi, lead author of the ISG report, explains, “European enterprises are choosing Workday as a unified, secure, scalable core for HR and finance. The company’s roadmap aligns with Europe’s regulatory complexity, multilingual operations and diverse local cultural norms.”

Top Providers Leading the Ecosystem

The ISG 2025 study assessed 21 providers across four segments: Transformation Services, Deployment and Integration Services, Performance and Optimization Services, and Innovation on Workday.

  • Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, Kainos, PwC, and Strada were named Leaders in all four quadrants.

  • HR Path and KPMG led in three quadrants, while IBM, Invisors, and Mercer led in one each.

  • Invisors earned recognition as both a Rising Star and 2025’s Global CX Star Performer for its customer excellence and rapid innovation.

The full report and its regional analyses underscore Workday’s role as a strategic enabler helping enterprises across Europe balance efficiency, compliance, and sustainability through AI-centered operations.
