Enhanced Real-Time Event Detection

Dataminr’s First Alert, used by public sector organizations in over 220 countries, leverages AI to monitor more than one million public data sources, including text, images, and video in 150+ languages. By integrating Esri’s ArcGIS Basemaps, First Alert provides a unified map-based interface, enabling users to detect emerging threats and visualize their proximity to critical assets. “When minutes matter, knowing exactly what’s happening, and where, is the key to an effective response,” said Brian Gumbel, President and Chief Operating Officer at Dataminr.

Geospatial Context for Faster Decisions

Esri’s ArcGIS Basemaps offer authoritative geospatial data, enhancing First Alert’s ability to deliver actionable insights. “By equipping First Alert users with Esri’s comprehensive and authoritative collection of basemaps, we are happy to empower organizations with the advanced geospatial awareness that only our location services can provide,” said Richard Cooke, Corporate Director of Global Business Development at Esri. This integration allows users to contextualize risks and accelerate decision-making for emergencies, diplomatic security, and infrastructure protection.

Seamless Transition for Users

Dataminr will migrate existing First Alert customers to the ArcGIS Basemaps platform by the end of 2025, with options for accelerated access via Customer Success Managers. The transition ensures continuity for users while upgrading their experience with enhanced mapping performance and visual context. This aligns with Dataminr’s Platinum Partner status in Esri’s Partner Network, reflecting deep integration and shared commitment to innovation.

Applications Across Public Sector

The integration supports diverse use cases, including crisis response, asset protection, and public safety. For example, First Alert with ArcGIS Basemaps can provide real-time alerts on severe weather, employee safety risks, or disruptions near critical infrastructure. The combination of Dataminr’s AI and Esri’s geospatial tools creates a robust common operating picture, enabling public sector organizations to respond effectively to high-impact events.

The Esri-Dataminr partnership sets a new standard for real-time emergency response by combining AI-driven event detection with ArcGIS Basemaps’ geospatial precision. As the transition completes by year-end 2025, public sector organizations will gain unparalleled situational awareness, empowering them to manage crises with speed and confidence.
