Esker, a leading provider of AI Automation Suite for the Office of the CFO, has appointed Scott McDermott as its new Chief Financial Officer. McDermott will report directly to Jean-Michel Bérard, Esker CEO, and will be instrumental in developing the company’s financial strategy, promoting operational excellence, enhancing governance, and supporting Esker’s global growth and transformation efforts.
Scott McDermott joins Esker with a proven track record in financial management for multinational organizations. His nearly decade-long experience in California’s technology sector, combined with leadership in both U.S. and European environments, provides a valuable transatlantic perspective. This background positions him to effectively guide Esker’s financial operations across diverse markets.
Most recently, McDermott served as CFO at Sogelink, where he directed financial strategy and operations. Before that, he held senior leadership positions in the U.S., including Interim CFO and Chief Accounting Officer at Cornerstone OnDemand, where he drove operational strategies, managed major business transformations, and oversaw key acquisitions. Earlier, as VP of Finance and Corporate Controller at NETGEAR Inc., he led financial initiatives during critical events such as the company’s IPO and the spin-off of its smart home security division, Arlo.
“I’m thrilled to join Esker and help contribute to its ambitious growth trajectory,” said Scott McDermott, Chief Financial Officer of Esker. “I look forward to working closely with the teams to strengthen financial performance, enhance operational excellence and support Esker’s ongoing transformation.”
“Scott joins Esker at a pivotal moment,” said Jean-Michel Bérard, CEO of Esker. “His international experience and strong background leading finance in a private-equity environment make him a valuable addition to our leadership team. His expertise in scaling global operations and driving transformation will be key to supporting our continued worldwide expansion.”
This leadership addition comes as Esker continues to expand its AI Automation Suite, which optimizes working capital, cash flow, and strategic decision-making through advanced agentic AI and automation. McDermott’s appointment strengthens the executive team’s ability to execute on long-term growth objectives while maintaining robust financial governance in a competitive global landscape.
