EHS Insight has announced the launch of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration, positioning the platform as the first EHS and ESG management solution to connect live program data with external AI assistants including Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot through an open standard.
The integration enables EHS managers, compliance officers, and operations leaders to query real-time, permissioned EHS data using natural language directly within the AI tools they already use, without requiring IT setup or additional configuration.
EHS Insight has embedded MCP as a third layer in its AI architecture. The platform already supports in-workflow AI assistance for tasks such as incident review, corrective action planning, and permit analysis, alongside internal analytical tools for reporting and trend identification.
With MCP, this intelligence extends beyond the platform, allowing users to interact with live EHS datasets through external AI environments.

The MCP Connector allows users to authenticate using existing credentials and immediately begin querying structured EHS data using natural language prompts.
Example use cases include identifying incident patterns, tracking overdue corrective actions, and generating regulatory summaries such as OSHA 300A reports. These queries, which traditionally require specialized analysts or SQL expertise, are executed in real time through the AI interface.
The MCP integration is built on the open Model Context Protocol standard supported by Anthropic, OpenAI, and Microsoft, ensuring interoperability across multiple AI ecosystems.
By adopting an open protocol rather than proprietary APIs, EHS Insight aims to reduce vendor lock-in and allow customers to benefit from continuous improvements across AI providers without additional upgrade cycles.
The integration works seamlessly with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
All MCP sessions operate under the user’s existing credentials and role-based access permissions within the platform. Queries are fully audit-logged, ensuring enterprise-level traceability and compliance oversight.
The system is designed to prevent unsecured data exports by maintaining governed access pathways between enterprise EHS data and external AI environments.
