Pioneering 800 VDC for AI Workloads

Eaton’s reference architecture, developed in partnership with NVIDIA, introduces 800 VDC systems integrated with energy storage to deliver safe, efficient, megawatt-scale power for AI factories. By minimizing material and infrastructure costs, this design enhances scalability and energy optimization, enabling data centers to handle the intense requirements of modern AI workloads.

Integrating Eaton’s Power Management Solutions

Eaton’s architecture incorporates key technologies tailored for AI infrastructure, including supercapacitors for rapid power backup, ORV3 busbar for reliable power distribution, and hot aisle containment systems to support busway and cable trays. DC connectors and other components ensure seamless integration with NVIDIA’s AI systems, providing robust protection and performance across the power chain for high-density computing environments.

Advancing the Grid-to-Chip Strategy

Eaton’s grid-to-chip strategy delivers comprehensive power management solutions, encompassing distribution, backup, and digital technologies for AI data centers. Recent advancements include collaborations with Siemens Energy for modular data centers with on-site power generation and edge-based solutions to mitigate AI power bursting. The 800 VDC architecture represents a critical step in enabling sustainable, high-efficiency AI operations.

This partnership with NVIDIA positions Eaton as a leader in transforming data center power infrastructure.
