Dun & Bradstreet has announced a collaboration with OpenAI that enables users to access the D&B Commercial Graph through ChatGPT and Codex using Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. The integration is designed to help financial professionals bring verified business identity, ownership, credit and risk data directly into AI-driven workflows.

The collaboration aims to accelerate finance operations such as due diligence, credit origination, financial reporting and risk validation by embedding trusted commercial data directly within generative AI environments.

D&B Commercial Graph Powers AI-Driven Business Context

At the center of the integration is the D&B Commercial Graph, which uses the D-U-N-S Number business identifier to provide structured business identity, ownership and relationship data across the global economy.

The platform combines public, proprietary and directly contributed business information to create continuously validated insights into supplier relationships, financials and risk indicators. According to Dun & Bradstreet, the Commercial Graph performs more than 100 billion verifications, tests and checks every month to support enterprise systems and AI applications.

As organizations expand AI adoption across finance and risk management functions, verified business data has become increasingly important in enabling AI systems to deliver accurate outputs and measurable business value.

ChatGPT and Codex Integrations Streamline Finance Operations

Through the new integrations, Dun & Bradstreet customers can securely connect D&B-hosted MCP servers directly to ChatGPT and Codex. This enables finance teams to use natural language prompts and custom AI agents to automate and accelerate operational workflows.

The integrations support workflows including:

Due Diligence and Financial Reporting

Finance teams can access verified business information directly within AI workspaces to improve reporting accuracy and reduce time spent validating commercial data.

Credit Origination and Risk Assessment

Users can leverage D&B Finance Analytics tools through MCP servers to automate business credit decisions using real-time data and rules-based evaluation engines.

Portfolio Risk Management

The integration also supports AI-driven portfolio monitoring within a headless AI architecture, helping organizations identify and manage risk across large business ecosystems more efficiently.

"AI is quickly becoming a core part of how organizations make decisions across finance, risk, and growth, and its impact depends on the quality of the data behind it," said Scott Spencer, General Manager, Finance & Credit at Dun & Bradstreet. "By bringing the D&B Commercial Graph into ChatGPT and Codex, we're meeting customers where they are working. This helps teams of all sizes, including small and mid-sized businesses, to embrace the power of AI with confidence in their workflows."

Dun & Bradstreet Focuses on Enterprise AI Data Governance

Dun & Bradstreet stated that the integration is intended to help organizations scale AI adoption while maintaining data consistency, governance and operational trust across finance systems.

The D&B Commercial Graph structures business identity and relationship data across enterprise environments, enabling AI systems to operate using validated and standardized commercial information.

The company noted that the integrations are now available for organizations looking to streamline AI-powered finance and credit workflows within ChatGPT and Codex environments.
