DigitalOcean has appointed Vinay Kumar as Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). In this role, Kumar will oversee product strategy, product development, cloud infrastructure, and security, leading the execution of DigitalOcean’s platform roadmap as the company expands its AI inference cloud and core cloud offerings for digital-native and AI-native enterprises.
Vinay Kumar joins DigitalOcean with extensive experience building and scaling hyperscale cloud platforms. As one of the founding members of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, he played a pivotal role in developing foundational services that delivered high reliability and performance at scale—capabilities critical for modern cloud and AI workloads.
His leadership at Oracle included managing large, multi-disciplinary product and engineering teams, driving customer adoption, and implementing customer-centric operating models. Earlier positions at AWS, Akamai, and Dell further broadened his expertise in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and enterprise-grade platforms.
