DEEPX, a leader in low-power AI semiconductor technology, has partnered with Baidu, a global AI powerhouse, to accelerate on-device AI solutions for industrial applications. Announced on August 18, 2025, in Shenzhen, China, the partnership leverages Baidu’s PaddlePaddle deep learning framework to advance AI projects in drones, robotics, and optical character recognition (OCR).
DEEPX and Baidu signed a PaddlePaddle Technology Ecosystem Partnership to advance on-device AI for global industries.
The collaboration focuses on drones, robotics, and OCR, integrating DEEPX’s DX-M1 chip with Baidu’s PaddlePaddle and ERNIE models.
DX-M1 achieves high FPS and power efficiency, ideal for edge environments with limited battery resources.
DEEPX is converting 10 OpenVINO-based AI models to be compatible with DX-M1, shared within Baidu’s ecosystem.
Joint exhibitions and demos are planned for the 2025 Shenzhen Artificial General Intelligence Conference.
Future collaborations include DEEPX’s V-NPU and DX-M2 chip to run Baidu’s ERNIE-4.5-VL-28B model.
Baidu’s PaddlePaddle, an open-source deep learning framework, is China’s leading platform for AI model development and deployment. Known as PArallel Distributed Deep LEarning, it supports industries like smart cities, autonomous driving, and speech processing. PaddlePaddle’s full-stack capabilities include pre-trained models, lightweighting tools, and visualization, making it a go-to for thousands of companies. DEEPX, as an official ecosystem partner, will co-develop products and promote AI solutions globally, leveraging PaddlePaddle’s robust framework for real-world applications.
DEEPX’s DX-M1 chip, designed for low-power on-device AI, demonstrated exceptional performance with Baidu’s fifth-generation PP-OCR and VLM-based models. Achieving high frames per second (FPS) and power efficiency (FPS/W), the DX-M1 excels in edge environments with constrained battery resources. In real-time demos, it showcased its ability to process large datasets的应用
System: ### Enhancing Global AI Applications The partnership between DEEPX and Baidu aims to integrate DEEPX’s efficient AI chips with PaddlePaddle’s versatile AI models, targeting industries such as drones, robotics, and OCR. Baidu’s PaddlePaddle and ERNIE Team will compile models for the DX-M1, enabling real-world deployment in robotics and drone projects. Additionally, DEEPX is adapting 10 widely used OpenVINO-based AI models for DX-M1 compatibility, expanding access for Baidu’s ecosystem partners.
DEEPX is developing the V-NPU, a vision AI NPU card to replace GPUs, with mass production set for September 2025. The company is also working on the DX-M2 chip, utilizing Samsung Foundry’s 2nm process, to support Baidu’s advanced ERNIE-4.5-VL-28B model. Both companies plan to showcase these advancements at the 2025 Shenzhen Artificial General Intelligence Conference, conducting joint demonstrations and marketing to global customers.
Baidu PaddlePaddle and ERNIE Team stated: "As a partner with excellent low-power AI semiconductor technology, DEEPX will add powerful edge computing capabilities to Baidu AI technical ecosystem, especially the DX-M1, which greatly enhances the practical applicability of PaddlePaddle-based AI models in various industries such as OCR, robotics, and drones.
