Managed IT service provider STN has significantly expanded its partnership with CoreSite by deploying its powerful GPU One platform at the CH2 data center in Chicago. This strategic move leverages CoreSite's AI-optimized infrastructure, including advanced liquid cooling and robust interconnection, to deliver a high-performance, private GPU cloud service for enterprise AI workloads. The collaboration also enables STN to capitalize on substantial tax savings through Illinois state incentives.
STN deploys its private GPU cloud platform, GPU One, at CoreSite's CH2 Chicago data center.
The deployment features a massive cluster of over 1,500 NVIDIA B200 GPUs for AI training and inference.
CoreSite's facility provides a primary liquid cooling solution, supporting over 100kW per cabinet for maximum performance and hardware longevity.
STN gains access to low-latency connectivity to major public clouds via CoreSite's Open Cloud Exchange.
The partnership allows STN to benefit from Illinois tax exemptions, resulting in significant cost savings on IT equipment.
This expansion underscores Chicago's growing role as a hub for high-density, AI-optimized data center infrastructure.
The decision to host the GPU One platform at CoreSite's CH2 facility was driven by the need for infrastructure capable of supporting compute-intensive enterprise AI. This NVIDIA-certified data center provides the power density and specialized cooling required for next-generation hardware. The turnkey, managed service model of GPU One allows clients to focus on their core AI development—such as model training and inference—while STN and CoreSite manage the underlying infrastructure for reliability and compliance.
A key advantage of the CH2 location is its industry-leading interconnection ecosystem. STN's customers can achieve low-latency access to a wide range of cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud, as well as over 65 networks. Furthermore, the deployment was made more cost-effective through the Illinois Retail Sales Tax Exemption program, which provided STN with substantial savings on all the IT equipment and software deployed at the CoreSite facility.
The Chicago deployment marks a major milestone in a partnership that began in 2019. "CoreSite has been a trusted partner throughout STN’s growth journey. When it came time to scale GPU One, our private cloud service for AI builders, we turned to CoreSite for their leadership in liquid-cooled, high-density deployments," said Sabur Mian, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of STN, Inc. "CoreSite is a leader in liquid cooling in the colocation data center space and its ability to deliver a customer’s primary liquid cooling solution at CH2 for us is what sealed the deal."
This expansion reflects the rising demand for specialized, high-performance infrastructure to power the future of enterprise AI and machine learning initiatives.
