Collibra, a leader in unified governance for data and AI, has announced an expanded integration with Snowflake during Snowflake Summit 2026, aimed at delivering trusted business context and semantic consistency across the Snowflake AI Data Cloud.

The collaboration builds on Collibra’s recently launched AI Command Center, extending governance capabilities directly into Snowflake environments to help enterprises move AI initiatives from experimentation to production with greater control, visibility, and trust.

Collibra and Snowflake Strengthen Enterprise AI Governance

As enterprises accelerate adoption of agentic AI systems, governance challenges are becoming increasingly complex. AI agents now operate across workflows, business decisions, and customer interactions, increasing the importance of trusted data, traceability, and compliance oversight.

Collibra’s expanded collaboration with Snowflake is designed to address these requirements by embedding governed business context directly into the Snowflake AI ecosystem. Business definitions, ownership information, quality indicators, and governance policies managed in Collibra now flow directly into Snowflake Horizon Catalog, Cortex Analyst, and Cortex Agents.

The integration helps AI systems generate more accurate, context-aware, and trusted outputs by grounding AI models and natural language queries in enterprise-approved business semantics.

"Data and AI are only as valuable as the context around them, and our expanded collaboration with Collibra is about delivering that context and the control to act on it, seamlessly to our customers," said Amy Kodl, SVP of WW Partner and Alliances at Snowflake.

Bi-Directional Metadata and Policy Synchronization

A key component of the announcement is a new bi-directional integration between the two platforms.

Governed metadata, tags, descriptions, semantic models, and policies from Collibra can now be published directly into Snowflake environments. At the same time, Snowflake technical metadata and lineage data are automatically harvested back into Collibra, ensuring governance systems remain continuously updated with operational data realities.

The integration also supports semantic enrichment for AI workflows through Open Semantic Interchange (OSI)-aligned models governed in Collibra. These semantic models can be published as Snowflake Semantic Views or OSI documents to improve Cortex Analyst and Cortex Agents experiences.

The collaboration also enables scalable access governance by allowing policies and fine-grained access controls managed in Collibra to be provisioned directly within Snowflake. This helps enterprises reduce over-privileged access, simplify compliance reporting, and centralize governance operations.

AI Command Center Adds Operational Oversight

Collibra’s AI Command Center acts as the operational governance layer for enterprise AI systems running on Snowflake.

The platform provides organizations with end-to-end traceability across AI workflows, including visibility into data sources, models, decisions, policies, and business outcomes. The AI Command Center also delivers governance signals such as certifications, quality scores, and usage policies to AI agents in real time through Collibra’s MCP Server.

This approach is intended to help organizations maintain continuous governance and oversight as AI agents increasingly operate autonomously across enterprise systems.

"The future of data lies in making context and governance an inherent part of the AI fabric," said Chandra Papudesu, VP, Product Management, Integrations & Lineage at Collibra. "This strengthened partnership with Snowflake, and the bidirectional integration, gives our joint customers the foundation to scale agentic AI from experimentation to production with confidence."

Enterprises Prioritize Trusted AI at Scale

The expanded partnership reflects growing enterprise demand for production-grade AI governance frameworks capable of supporting regulatory compliance, model risk management, semantic consistency, and AI trust at scale.

As organizations deploy more AI-driven workflows and autonomous agents, governance platforms are becoming increasingly central to ensuring reliable and accountable AI operations.

The integration positions Collibra and Snowflake to support enterprises seeking to operationalize AI systems while maintaining visibility, control, and governance across the full AI lifecycle.

The integrations are currently available in preview for select joint customers, with broader availability expected in Q3 2026.
