Advancing Industrial AI with Cognite Atlas AI

Cognite Atlas AI™ is a low-code industrial AI agent workbench designed to streamline operations in sectors like energy, manufacturing, and renewables. Launched on September 10, 2025, at the Atlas AI Summit in Tokyo, this release empowers organizations to deploy AI agents with real-time, AI-ready operational technology (OT), information technology (IT), and engineering data. The platform’s rapid adoption, with new customers onboarding weekly, underscores its impact on industrial digital transformation.

Key Features of the Latest Release

The new release introduces powerful capabilities to accelerate AI agent deployment. Seamless integration with existing Cognite applications automates tasks such as root cause analysis, process troubleshooting, and work package creation. Preconfigured templates enable users to build agents 10x faster for tasks like analyzing time-series data, summarizing shift handovers, and classifying work orders. “This new release of Cognite Atlas AI is truly revolutionary,” said Nobuyoshi Hojo, General Manager of the Technology & Engineering Center at Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. “AI agents amplify our impact and improve safety, reduce plant downtime, and pave the way for new levels of innovation at our refineries. We’re not just automating tasks; we’re leveraging trusted AI-generated insights to continuously improve our business processes and create substantial value across the organization.”

Bridging the AI Adoption Gap

A recent PwC survey highlights that while 79% of businesses experiment with AI agents, only 19% deploy them at scale. Cognite Atlas AI addresses this gap by simplifying the creation and scaling of production-ready AI agents. Purpose-built industrial tools allow users to query the industrial knowledge graph efficiently, while secure operations with granular user access controls ensure reliability. “The latest release of Cognite Atlas AI marks a giant leap forward in bridging the gap between pilot and production,” said Joe Lamming, principal analyst and technical lead, AI Applied, at Verdantix. “Our research shows that scaling agents depends on highly accurate context—domain models that accurately represent the essential elements, machine-traversable semantic connections, high concurrency, guided tool access, and detailed observability—well beyond what a simple conversational interface can deliver. Atlas AI natively extends Cognite’s DataOps platform to automate common operational tasks in a user-configurable, domain-specific, low-code environment.”

Driving Scalable AI Solutions

Cognite’s platform empowers organizations to move beyond isolated AI experiments to scalable, production-grade solutions. “The industrial world is at a critical juncture where the true value of AI lies not in isolated experiments, but in scalable, production-ready solutions,” said Chirayu Shah, Chief Product Officer at Cognite. “Our latest release of Cognite Atlas AI directly addresses this need. We are empowering our customers to accelerate their digital transformation and unlock tremendous value by making AI agents a fundamental part of their operations.” The platform supports global customers like Aker BP, ADNOC Offshore, and Idemitsu, driving efficiency and innovation.

This release positions Cognite Atlas AI as a leader in industrial AI, enabling organizations to harness AI-driven insights for safer, more sustainable, and profitable operations.
