Celero Communications, a developer of high-performance coherent DSP technology, has secured $140 million in total funding to accelerate the development of its optical interconnect solutions for AI infrastructure. The investment, which includes a $100 million Series B round led by CapitalG, positions the company to address the critical need for scalable and efficient connectivity within and between massive AI accelerator clusters.
Celero Communications raised a total of $140 million in funding.
A $100 million Series B was led by CapitalG, Alphabet's independent growth fund.
The company develops coherent DSPs for optical connectivity in AI infrastructure.
This technology addresses bandwidth and power bottlenecks in scaling AI clusters.
The founding team includes veterans from Marvell, Inphi, and Broadcom.
Funding will be used to advance DSP technology for next-gen AI data centers.
As AI models and the clusters that train them grow exponentially, traditional data center interconnects face severe limitations in bandwidth, cost, and energy consumption. Celero's coherent DSP (Digital Signal Processor) platform is designed specifically to overcome these bottlenecks. It provides the essential signal processing that enables AI systems to scale across accelerator clusters and cloud data centers with superior bandwidth efficiency, performance, and power savings.
This technology is critical for the evolution of AI architecture from single-rack systems to vast networks comprising millions of AI accelerators. “As AI models and clusters grow exponentially, today’s data centers face severe limits in bandwidth, cost, and energy efficiency,” said Nariman Yousefi, co-founder and CEO of Celero. “Our coherent DSP technology delivers the optical performance and scalability needed to remove these bottlenecks.”
Celero's potential is underscored by its founding team, which includes former senior executives from industry leaders like Marvell, Inphi, and Broadcom with a proven track record of shipping multiple generations of DSP and networking solutions. This experience has attracted significant confidence from top-tier investors.
“Amid the explosive growth of artificial intelligence, Celero is uniquely positioned to meet the soaring demands of AI infrastructure,” said James Luo, General Partner at CapitalG. “The experienced leadership and differentiated architecture at Celero position the company to lead in AI-driven network innovation.”
