Cadence has strengthened its corporate governance with the appointment of a leading figure from the semiconductor research world. The company has named Dr. Luc Van den hove, the President and CEO of the renowned research hub imec, to its board of directors, effective at the start of 2026.

Dr. Van den hove's credentials are deeply rooted in the industry. He has held numerous roles at imec, progressing from a manager in the micro-patterning group to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer before becoming President and CEO in 2009. He holds a PhD in electrical engineering and will continue to lead imec until the end of March 2026, after which he will transition to the role of Chair of imec's board of directors.
