BMC has expanded its AI capabilities through new Model Context Protocol (MCP) innovations that enable AI agents to securely connect with production workflows and live operational data.
Within the mainframe environment, BMC AMI Assistant now includes an MCP-enabled client that allows organizations to securely access institutional knowledge and live operational information across IT teams. The enhancement provides operational context that supports faster decision-making while enabling database administrators to surface live operational data from BMC AMI Ops within the BMC AMI Command Center for Db2.
The company has also introduced a Control-M MCP server, allowing AI agents and assistants to securely trigger, monitor, and investigate production workflows while operating within enterprise governance, policy controls, and human oversight.
BMC has expanded the Control-M Archive Service to support both self-hosted and SaaS deployments. The enhancement improves compliance through centralized cloud-based archiving, IT service management integration, workflow history, and simplified auditing.
The Control-M platform also continues to expand its automation ecosystem through new integrations with AWS RDS, Oracle Data Transform, SAP CPI, Azure VMSS, Azure AI Foundry, and Dataiku. These additions enable organizations to orchestrate AI agents alongside enterprise applications, data pipelines, and operational workflows across hybrid environments.
BMC has also introduced several new capabilities designed specifically for mainframe operations.
BMC AMI DevX Code Pipeline now generates Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) to help identify common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs) directly within CI/CD pipelines, improving visibility for developers, security teams, and compliance initiatives.
Meanwhile, BMC AMI Ops Monitoring adds AI-driven, context-aware analytical alarms that identify meaningful system behavior changes while reducing unnecessary operational noise. The platform also provides integrated visibility across z/OS systems and containerized zCX workloads.
Additionally, new BMC AMI Cloud data mover functionality enables organizations to perform faster full-volume backups while scaling object storage capabilities for growing enterprise data volumes.
