AtScale joins the Open Semantic Interchange (OSI), an open source initiative led by Snowflake and ecosystem partners, bringing over a decade of semantic layer expertise to help define a vendor-neutral, open specification for consistent metrics and business logic across enterprise AI and BI tools.
The Open Semantic Interchange (OSI) addresses a critical challenge in modern data and AI ecosystems: fragmented definitions of business metrics and logic across tools, platforms, and teams. By establishing a common, open specification for semantic metadata, OSI enables organizations to achieve consistent, governed metrics regardless of the underlying data platform or consumption tool.
AtScale, a pioneer in universal semantic layer technology, brings more than ten years of hands-on experience to the initiative. The company has helped large enterprises migrate complex dimensional models from legacy systems to cloud-native architectures while preserving hierarchies, aggregation rules, and calculation behaviors. This practical expertise is particularly valuable as OSI evolves from conceptual design to production-ready standards.
