Aerospike, Inc., the real-time state, context, and decisioning platform for operational AI, today announced Don Dama as Chief Executive Officer to lead the company through its next phase of growth. The announcement comes as enterprises move AI from experimentation into real-time operations, with Aerospike now powering applications that reach more than 2 billion people globally.
The new enterprise AI challenge is grounding intelligence in real-time reality. While AI models, agents, and algorithms have demonstrated extraordinary capability, they are not enough without immediate access to changing operational data. Without real-time enterprise data, models reason and act on an enterprise reality that has already changed by the time a decision is made. Aerospike addresses this gap with next-generation enterprise data infrastructure that delivers instant access to real-time data at extraordinary scale with sustainable economics.
For years, Aerospike has delivered an operational data platform capable of acting on massive amounts of data in real time. Its real-time state, context, and decisioning platform supports some of the largest-scale AI operations in the world. This includes AMD's grid computing monitoring platform with over 20 million jobs daily and over 1 million running concurrently at peak, AppsFlyer's mobile attribution platform handling 2.5 million writes and 4.5 million reads per second with sub-millisecond latency, and PayPal's real-time fraud prevention platform executing more than 8 million database transactions per second.
Don Dama brings extensive experience transforming enterprise technology companies through growth, market expansion, and strategic change. Throughout his career, he has served as CEO, Chief Revenue Officer, and General Manager across enterprise data, cloud, and application companies.
“A model may reason brilliantly. Compute may run quickly. And applications and agents can execute. But none of it operates correctly unless it is continuously grounded in the changing reality of the enterprise it serves,” said Dama. “You need to operationalize intelligence against the continuously changing state of the enterprise. That’s the infrastructure challenge of the AI era. And it’s not only the opportunity that Aerospike was built to address, but also what it’s delivered for years in some of the world’s most demanding applications and most successful AI and ML initiatives.”
“Aerospike is in an exciting phase with accelerating growth and is well positioned to become a foundational data platform for operational AI,” said Tim Connor, chairman of the Aerospike board and partner at NewView Capital. “Throughout his career, Don has helped enterprise technology companies capitalize on market transitions and scale rapidly. He brings the ideal combination of urgency, product vision, execution discipline, and leadership to build on Aerospike’s momentum and capture the opportunity ahead. I’m excited to welcome him to the Aerospike team.”
The appointment underscores Aerospike's strategy to become the foundational data platform for operational AI as enterprises operationalize AI against the continuously changing state of their business. With proven capabilities in real-time decisioning and leadership focused on product vision and execution, Aerospike is positioned to scale its enterprise AI infrastructure footprint.
