CrewAI, the leading enterprise platform for multi-agent systems, today published the 2026 State of Agentic AI Survey Report based on responses from 500 C-level executives and senior leaders at organizations with $100M+ in annual revenue and 5,000+ employees across seven global regions. The findings indicate a decisive shift: enterprises are rapidly operationalizing agentic AI at scale, driven by proven time savings, cost reductions, and revenue impact.
The survey shows agentic AI is no longer a pilot technology—65% of enterprises are actively using AI agents, and 81% report full adoption or active scaling across functions. On average, organizations have automated 31% of their workflows using agentic AI, with plans to increase that share by 33% in 2026.
Benefits are widespread: 75% of respondents report high or very high time savings, 69% note significant operational cost reductions, 62% see revenue generation impact, and 59% report lowered labor costs. Impact spans IT (52%), Operations (44%), Customer Support and Sales & Marketing (39% each), and R&D (38%).
“Enterprise adoption of agentic AI is accelerating faster than anyone anticipated,” said João Moura, Founder and CEO, CrewAI. “Organizations aren’t just experimenting—they’re building, shipping, and scaling agents into production. What they need now is a platform that makes it easy to go from prototype to production, with the governance and reliability that enterprise demands. That’s exactly what CrewAI delivers.”
When selecting agentic AI platforms, security and governance rank highest (34%), followed by ease of integration with existing systems (30%) and reliability/performance (24%). Time-to-value and ROI rank lowest (2%), signaling that leaders view foundational trust and operational readiness as prerequisites for sustainable returns.
57% of organizations prefer extending existing or open-source tools rather than building from scratch, especially in construction (73%), financial services (71%), manufacturing (63%), and retail/eCommerce (60%).
Data readiness and integration challenges (35%) and talent/skills shortages (33%) top the list of obstacles, followed by technology limitations (27%) and budget constraints (25%). Only 23% cite a lack of clear use cases, indicating most organizations already recognize high-value applications and need platforms that lower technical barriers for both developers and business users.
CrewAI’s platform addresses these needs with pro-code and low-code tools, role-based access, audit logs, enterprise-grade governance, and seamless integration across major LLMs, hyperscalers, and enterprise applications—without vendor lock-in.
