SolarWinds has announced an expanded collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), integrating Amazon Bedrock to both power its generative AI capabilities and provide observability for AI infrastructure. This dual-faceted integration enhances AI innovation within SolarWinds' portfolio while giving customers unified visibility into the performance of their Amazon Bedrock services.

  • SolarWinds expands AWS collaboration with a dual integration of Amazon Bedrock.

  • Amazon Bedrock powers generative AI features within the SolarWinds Platform and Service Desk.

  • SolarWinds Observability SaaS can now monitor Amazon Bedrock workloads directly.

  • The SolarWinds AI Agent and other features leverage Anthropic's Claude models via Bedrock.

  • This provides customers with a scalable AI foundation and performance monitoring in one view.

  • The move underscores the growing demand for transparent, practical AI in IT operations.

Powering Generative AI with a Secure Foundation

SolarWinds is leveraging Amazon Bedrock, specifically the Anthropic Claude models, to deliver conversational and context-aware AI capabilities across its platform. These include automated ticket summarization, incident correlation, and intelligent recommendations within SolarWinds Service Desk. The integration is managed through the SolarWinds LLM Gateway, which provides secure model abstraction. “Amazon Bedrock gives us a secure, scalable foundation to extend SolarWinds AI across our entire portfolio,” said Krishna Sai, CTO of SolarWinds.

Providing Observability for AI Infrastructure

In a complementary move, SolarWinds Observability SaaS now offers direct monitoring for customer workloads running on Amazon Bedrock. IT teams can visualize key performance metrics such as invocation rates, latency, token throughput, and service health through customizable dashboards and alerts. This provides end-to-end insight into sophisticated AI workloads, helping ensure reliability and performance at scale. “With unified observability, organizations have confidence their AI systems perform reliably, securely, and at scale,” said Cullen Childress, CPO of SolarWinds.

Advancing the AI Agent Roadmap

This integration is foundational to the recently announced SolarWinds AI Agent, a digital teammate built on Amazon Bedrock. The agent summarizes incidents, identifies root causes, recommends fixes, and automates workflows through natural language. By embedding Claude models via Bedrock, SolarWinds is extending this intelligence across its observability, database, and IT service management products. This creates a unified foundation built on the company's AI by Design and Secure by Design principles.

Addressing the Demand for Practical AI

The expansion addresses a clear market need, as cited by SolarWinds' own IT Trends Report 2025, where 68% of IT leaders view AI as essential for resilience and efficiency. The dual approach—both using and monitoring advanced AI services—aims to deliver the transparent, practical AI that customers demand, with a focus on measurable outcomes, data privacy, and customer control.

SolarWinds' deepened integration with Amazon Bedrock represents a strategic move to embed advanced, yet governed, AI across its IT management suite. By simultaneously utilizing Bedrock for capabilities and providing tools to monitor its performance, SolarWinds offers customers a more cohesive and trustworthy path to adopting generative AI. This positions the company to help IT teams not only implement AI but also manage and optimize it as a critical component of their operational infrastructure.
