Notably, the Q2 2025 Drive Stats report revealed a collective AFR of 1.54% for smaller drives (12TB or less), with older models (five years or more) maintaining a 1.33% AFR, demonstrating resilience in aging hardware. The session will also dive into high-capacity drives (20TB and above), offering insights into their performance and reliability, critical for enterprises scaling their storage infrastructure.
The talk will address challenges in tracking Solid State Drive (SSD) performance, including variability in failure rates due to limited data points for newer models.
