The barrier to prototyping and fine-tuning large-scale AI models is being significantly lowered with a new collaborative product from MediaTek and NVIDIA. The companies have teamed up on the design of the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip at the heart of the NVIDIA DGX Spark, a personal AI supercomputer that brings unprecedented computational power to the developer's desktop.
MediaTek collaborated with NVIDIA on the GB10 Superchip for the DGX Spark.
The DGX Spark is a desktop AI supercomputer available to the public starting today.
It delivers up to 1 PFLOP of AI performance for models up to 200 billion parameters.
The system is compact, power-efficient, and uses a standard electrical outlet.
The GB10 chip leverages MediaTek's expertise in power-efficient, high-performance design.
This partnership extends the companies' collaboration across data center and AI verticals.
The core of the DGX Spark's capability is the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip. MediaTek applied its extensive experience in designing power-efficient and high-performance computing subsystems to power the Grace 20-core Arm CPU. This is combined with NVIDIA's latest generation Blackwell GPU and 128GB of unified memory. The resulting configuration delivers up to 1 PFLOP of AI performance, enabling developers to prototype, fine-tune, and run inference on large AI models with up to 200 billion parameters directly from their desks.
A key achievement of the DGX Spark is its balance of raw power with practical accessibility. The entire system is packaged in a compact design that fits on a desktop and is power-efficient enough to run from a standard wall outlet, eliminating the need for specialized infrastructure. For even larger models, the built-in ConnectX-7 networking technology allows two DGX Spark systems to be connected, enabling inference on models of up to 405 billion parameters, offering significant scalability in a desktop form factor.
This product launch solidifies the ongoing strategic partnership between MediaTek and NVIDIA. The GB10 Superchip represents a fusion of MediaTek's power-saving technologies from consumer devices with high-performance computing architecture for the data center, custom-built for AI workloads. This collaboration aims to make advanced AI development more accessible, advancing the mission of solving performance and power consumption challenges from the edge to the cloud.
The public availability of the DGX Spark marks a pivotal moment in the democratization of AI development. By placing supercomputer-level performance on the desktop, MediaTek and NVIDIA are empowering a broader range of developers and organizations to participate in the next wave of AI innovation, accelerating prototyping and deployment across countless industries.
