The winners demonstrate hyper-automation, domain-specific innovation, and rapid ROI, with some achieving returns exceeding 2,500% within months.

Bosch: Streamlining Purchase-to-Pay

Bosch leverages agentic AI to enhance its Invoice-to-Pay Customer Service Center, processing 500,000 annual inquiries. “With its AI expertise in order to develop and manufacture user-friendly, sustainable products, Bosch was able to create an AI agent that searches and retrieves relevant invoice information in any of Bosch’s 40 SAP instances,” the announcement noted. This reduced response times to minutes for up to 80% of cases, with the system handling 20% of inquiries since November 2024 and projected to cover 80% soon.

BT International: Optimizing Order-to-Cash

BT International, powered by Wipro, used AI and machine learning to address order fulfillment delays. “Concerned about delays in revenue realization due to high end-to-end order fulfillment cycle times and a large volume of backlogged orders,” BT implemented a system predicting order backlog with 85% accuracy, reducing backlog by 29% and achieving 96% right first-time delivery, yielding $83.9 million in annual benefits and a 26,000% ROI.

Johnson & Johnson: AI Automation Excellence

Johnson & Johnson’s JAIDA-GenAI, launched in 2020, evolved from a basic chatbot to a comprehensive generative AI platform. “As the sophistication and reach of the program grew, J&J Global Services began to develop a five-stage methodology for delivering automations within J&J,” engaging 11 internal functions to enhance employee digital experiences, with expected payback within 12-18 months, laying the foundation for future innovation.

McCormick & Company: Strategic Sourcing with AI

McCormick & Company, Inc. developed the Iconic Raw Materials Analytics (IRMA) system to optimize purchasing. “In response, McCormick’s procurement team partnered with their data and analytics colleagues to develop a sophisticated predictive system,” leveraging machine learning and AI insights from agricultural, economic, weather, and futures data. IRMA has become integral to McCormick’s sourcing strategies, boosting efficiency and competitive advantage.

Roche Turkiye: Advancing Oncology Care

Roche Turkiye’s Clinical Data Platform for Oncology standardizes breast cancer treatment. “Most Hackett Innovation Award winners save money and time. Roche Turkiye’s Clinical Data Platform for Oncology is also on track to save the lives of thousands of Turkish women,” with a 25% improvement in treatment outcomes during a four-month pilot and a 2,500% ROI due to cost-effective early interventions.

Schneider Electric: Cost Analytics Innovation

Schneider Electric’s Cost Analytics Power (CAP) tool, built on Quickbase, enhances procurement. “Seeing an opportunity to augment data from traditional enterprise resource planning systems with information from business intelligence systems,” Schneider’s CAP tool analyzes 30 million transactions annually, identifying significant savings with a three-month payback period, improving data accuracy across regions.

The 2025 Hackett Innovation Awards showcase how AI can drive transformative business outcomes. “The award-winning organizations have found operational areas where they have designed, developed and implemented AI solutions in their production environments,” said John K. Thompson, senior vice president and principal at The Hackett Group®. These innovations set a benchmark for scalable AI adoption, delivering measurable value across diverse industries.
