EMQ Technologies has released EMQX Enterprise 5.10, a significant update to its MQTT platform, designed for industrial, automotive, and AI-enabled IoT applications. Launched on June 24, 2025, this version introduces AI-driven workflows, native NATS support, and expanded data integration capabilities, empowering organizations to build intelligent, scalable IoT data pipelines.

Quick Intel

  • EMQX Enterprise 5.10 integrates LLMs for real-time MQTT message processing.
  • AI Rule Generator converts natural language into SQL rules for easy configuration.
  • Native NATS gateway enables bi-directional MQTT-NATS communication.
  • Supports Amazon S3 Tables with Apache Iceberg for scalable data storage.
  • Apache Doris integration enhances real-time analytics and visualization.
  • Ideal for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and IoT scalability.

AI-Powered MQTT Workflows

EMQX Enterprise 5.10 introduces "LLM Processing" nodes in its Flow Designer, enabling integration with large language models like GPT-4, Claude, and local models. This allows real-time analysis and summarization of MQTT messages using natural language, eliminating the need for coding. Applications include predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and intelligent alerting, making IoT data processing more accessible and efficient.

Natural Language SQL Rule Generation

The AI Rule Generator simplifies rule creation by converting plain English into valid SQL statements for the EMQX Rule Engine. For instance, a prompt like “Alert if any device reports a temperature above 90” generates a functional SQL rule in seconds. This feature lowers the technical barrier, enabling both technical and non-technical users to configure rules quickly and accurately.

NATS Gateway for Unified Messaging

The new NATS protocol gateway supports bi-directional communication between MQTT and NATS clients, facilitating integration with microservices and cloud-native systems. It supports wildcard topics, queue groups, and request/reply patterns, unifying diverse architectures under a single messaging backbone. This enhances interoperability for complex IoT deployments across industries like automotive and manufacturing.

Enhanced Data Integration

EMQX 5.10 expands data sink support with Amazon S3 Tables using Apache Iceberg format for scalable, long-term storage. Users can query data with tools like Amazon Athena, EMR, Redshift Spectrum, Trino, Presto, and Snowflake. Additionally, integration with Apache Doris enables real-time SQL querying and visualization through platforms like Grafana, supporting operational monitoring and business intelligence.

EMQX Enterprise 5.10 positions EMQ as a leader in IoT connectivity by combining AI-driven automation with robust data integration. With features like LLM processing, NATS gateway, and enhanced analytics, it empowers organizations to build scalable, intelligent IoT solutions for real-time applications.
