Beamr and Intempora Simplify Video Data Management for AV Development

Beamr and Intempora have expanded their collaboration by making Beamr's ML-safe video compression technology available through the RTMaps AI Store. The integration is designed to help autonomous vehicle developers manage the growing volume of video data generated throughout the development lifecycle without disrupting existing software workflows.

Autonomous vehicle programs routinely generate tens to hundreds of petabytes of video data from sensors, increasing storage, networking, and infrastructure costs. By integrating directly into RTMaps, Beamr enables organizations to optimize video storage while maintaining the visual information required by machine learning models.

ML-Safe Compression Preserves AI Performance

Beamr's Content-Adaptive Bitrate (CABR) technology reduces video file sizes by up to 50% beyond standard video encoding techniques while preserving the object boundaries, edges, and scene details relied upon by computer vision and perception models.

The technology can be deployed across multiple stages of autonomous vehicle development, including vehicle data logging, cloud storage, simulation environments, synthetic dataset generation, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.

Because the solution uses GPU-accelerated processing, organizations can process large video datasets efficiently while lowering infrastructure requirements for data transfer and long-term storage.
