Xebia has unveiled Xebia Axis: Agentic Data Foundation, a new enterprise solution designed to help organizations prepare their data infrastructure for AI adoption. Combining proprietary AI agents with human data engineering expertise, the platform automates data assessment, migration, monitoring, and operations while maintaining governance and data quality, enabling enterprises to modernize data platforms significantly faster than traditional approaches.
As organizations accelerate AI initiatives, many continue to face challenges caused by fragmented data environments and inconsistent governance. Traditional data platforms were primarily built for human users, while modern AI systems require structured, governed, and production-ready data to operate effectively.
Xebia developed Axis to bridge this gap by combining AI automation with human oversight throughout the enterprise data lifecycle. While engineers define governance policies and strategic direction, AI agents perform data-intensive tasks such as assessment, migration, validation, monitoring, and operational remediation.
"Enterprises have spent years moving data to the cloud, but many still cannot put AI into production because the underlying data and governance are not ready," said Anand Sahay, Chief Executive Officer, Xebia. "Xebia Axis closes that gap, so our clients can move to an Agentic Enterprise faster than competitors still wrestling with legacy data platforms."
Rather than relying on multiple disconnected tools, Xebia Axis provides a unified framework covering the complete enterprise data lifecycle.
The platform consists of six integrated modules:
Xebia emphasizes that governance is embedded directly into Axis rather than added as an afterthought.
The platform includes built-in controls for access management, audit logging, data residency, and bias management while ensuring enterprise data remains within customer environments throughout deployment.
According to the company, AI agents operate under strict governance controls, allowing enterprises to automate repetitive engineering tasks without compromising security, compliance, or data integrity.
"The same agent technology that makes data debt urgent also makes it faster to resolve," said Niels Zeilemaker, Xebia’s Global CTO Data & AI. "Xebia Axis puts purpose-built agents alongside senior engineers to build and run data platforms in production, with governance built into the platform itself."
Xebia Axis is designed to integrate with existing enterprise technology environments rather than requiring organizations to adopt a single technology stack.
The solution supports leading cloud data platforms including Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric. It also works with multiple large language models, including Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, and Mistral AI, allowing organizations to evolve their AI architecture without vendor lock-in.
Xebia highlighted several early implementations demonstrating the platform's enterprise capabilities.
A global bank consolidated fraud detection and credit data into a unified governed platform to improve real-time AI model performance while reducing infrastructure costs over time.
A global airline modernized fragmented operational and customer data, reducing migration timelines from the traditional 12 to 18 months to just a few months through AI-assisted automation.
Meanwhile, a global retailer consolidated duplicate data pipelines into a continuously monitored platform that improved data quality and reduced downstream reporting issues.
Xebia Axis is now available worldwide. Organizations can begin with the standalone Axis Readiness assessment, which delivers a data readiness score, enterprise data inventory, and migration roadmap within two to four weeks. Assessment fees can be applied toward a future migration project.
The launch further expands Xebia's AI portfolio following the recent introduction of Xebia Ace, the company's AI-native software engineering framework designed to accelerate software development through AI-assisted engineering.
By combining AI-powered automation with governed engineering practices, Xebia aims to help enterprises modernize data infrastructure faster while creating trusted, production-ready foundations for large-scale AI adoption.
