As artificial intelligence continues to reshape financial services, investment platforms are evolving beyond automation into collaborative AI ecosystems. Waton Financial Limited has announced the launch of MoTA Alpha, a significant upgrade to its AI-powered investment platform that introduces an AI trading agent marketplace, enhanced multi-agent collaboration, and a redesigned user experience.
MoTA Alpha expands the platform's capabilities by launching the Agent Talents Market, an ecosystem where third-party developers can create, publish, and distribute AI trading agents.
Professional investors can subscribe to or deploy specialized AI agents developed by independent creators while all agents operate on Waton's infrastructure. Developers retain control over their proprietary AI logic, while Waton provides the execution environment and platform infrastructure.
The company says this marketplace is designed to foster a broader ecosystem of AI-powered investment tools.
MoTA Alpha strengthens its AI-native investment workbench through an upgraded task orchestration layer that improves communication between specialized AI agents.
The platform enables portfolio managers and investment professionals to organize teams of AI agents responsible for research, market analysis, risk management, and trade execution. Each agent performs assigned responsibilities within defined workflows while maintaining complete audit trails and escalating decisions requiring human approval.
Human review and final authorization remain mandatory throughout every stage of the investment process.
The Alpha release also introduces a redesigned interface that maintains MoTA's distinctive 8-bit pixel-art visual identity while improving workflow efficiency.
According to the company, the updated design increases information density and operational speed for professional users without abandoning the platform's unique visual approach.
Waton says the launch of MoTA Alpha represents a strategic transition from a traditional securities brokerage and SaaS provider toward becoming an AI-native financial technology company.
The company is building its business around a dual-engine strategy that combines brokerage infrastructure with AI-powered financial applications, positioning itself within the emerging category of AI-native investment platforms.
"The Alpha release of MoTA marks Waton's evolution from a financial technology services provider to an AI-era infrastructure and product company," said Zhou Kai (Tony Zhou), Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Waton Financial. "We are not building a chatbot for trading. We are building a platform where professional investors manage teams of AI agents — each with defined roles, clear accountability, and human oversight. The Agent Talents Market extends this further: MoTA transitions from a product into an ecosystem."
According to Waton's unaudited financial results for the first half of fiscal year 2026, the company reported total revenue of $6.10 million, representing a 106.3% year-over-year increase. Brokerage and commission income increased 223.1% to $4.17 million, while cash and segregated cash totaled $29.88 million and total assets reached $68.98 million.
The company also reported research and development expenses as a separate financial category for the first time, reflecting ongoing investment in AI product development. Waton identifies MoTA Alpha as the first major commercial outcome of this research initiative.
Following the Alpha launch, Waton plans to begin public beta testing during the third quarter of 2026.
The platform currently supports investment activities across Hong Kong and U.S. equity markets, with digital asset capabilities included on the company's future product roadmap. MoTA is available as a standalone application while also integrating with Waton's brokerage and TradingWTF infrastructure.
The release positions MoTA Alpha as a key component of Waton's long-term strategy to expand AI-powered investment solutions for professional investors while developing a broader ecosystem for AI trading technologies.
