As enterprises increasingly integrate AI agents into critical business workflows, establishing robust security standards has become a paramount concern. UiPath, a global leader in agentic automation, has taken a significant step in this direction by becoming a founding technical contributor to AIUC-1, the leading security framework for AI agent adoption in the enterprise. This move underscores the industry's need for auditable, agent-specific security protocols to ensure trust and reliability.
UiPath becomes a founding technical contributor to the AIUC-1 security framework.
AIUC-1 is a comprehensive standard for secure enterprise AI agent adoption.
The framework addresses risks like jailbreaks, prompt injections, and data leaks.
UiPath will contribute its expertise in agentic automation and security.
The standard includes independent third-party audits and adversarial testing.
This initiative aims to build confidence for enterprises deploying AI agents.
The AIUC-1 framework consolidates existing global standards, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, the EU AI Act, and ISO 42001, into a single, agent-specific protocol. It is grounded in technical evaluations designed to address AI-specific risks, including jailbreaks, prompt injections, and hallucinations. Given that AI agents often handle sensitive data and execute real transactions in ERP, CRM, and financial systems, the framework establishes strict guardrails to ensure every decision is auditable, explainable, and reversible.
As a technical contributor, UiPath will leverage its extensive experience with over 10,000 global customers to help reinforce the framework. The company's platform is used to agentify highly sensitive workflows in areas like fraud detection and financial operations, making its input on security, safety, and reliability critical to the standard's practical application.
Scott Roberts, CISO of UiPath, stated, “We’re proud to be a founding technical contributor to AIUC-1, helping to shape the industry-leading AI agent standard for enterprise adoption. Our more than 10,000 global customers use our platform to agentify and orchestrate highly sensitive workflows, from fraud detection to financial operations, trusting us to adhere to the highest levels of AI security, safety, and reliability.”
A key component of AIUC-1 is its rigorous certification process, which includes independent third-party audits and quarterly adversarial testing across more than 1,000 enterprise risk scenarios. UiPath's own AIUC-1 audit will be conducted by Schellman, a leading global IT auditor. This builds upon Schellman's previous work in certifying UiPath against the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 standard and will now test for AI agent-specific controls, providing enterprises with verified confidence in the platform's security posture.
Rajiv Dattani, co-founder of AIUC, commented, “UiPath has deep experience meeting these needs, working with sensitive data in highly regulated industries. By partnering as a founding technical contributor, they are taking their expertise and codifying it into a standard that AI builders and adopters globally can use to secure their deployments.”
By contributing to and adhering to the AIUC-1 standard, UiPath is helping to define the security benchmarks that will enable the safe and scalable adoption of agentic automation across the enterprise, fostering greater trust in AI-driven business processes.
