The partnership combines TwelveLabs’ cutting-edge Video Foundation Models (VFMs), Marengo and Pegasus, with LG CNS’s expertise in AI transformation (AX) solutions. TwelveLabs, soon to be the first video model provider on Amazon Bedrock, brings advanced multimodal neural network technology. LG CNS, a leader in enterprise AI for financial institutions like Shinhan Bank and Woori Bank, extends its AX capabilities into public sector and manufacturing.
“This partnership with LG CNS empowers our video understanding AI to create real value across critical industries,” said Jae Lee, CEO of TwelveLabs. “Together, we will maximize the value of video data and lay the foundation for Korea to emerge as a top-three global powerhouse in AI.”
In the media and entertainment sector, the collaboration will deliver innovative solutions to streamline content creation and monetization. Key applications include automatic summarization and highlight generation for news, sports, and TV shows, as well as keyword and scenario-based search across large video archives. The partnership will also enable contextual advertising based on real-time content consumption, enhancing engagement and revenue for broadcasters.
For public safety and investigative services, the partnership focuses on leveraging video AI to improve efficiency and accuracy. Automated detection of specific events in CCTV footage, summarization of body cam and dash cam footage, and scene search for incident-related content will empower law enforcement and legal professionals. These capabilities align with LG CNS’s recent projects with the Korean National Police Agency and other public sector entities.
The collaboration emphasizes two pillars: technological R&D and business co-development. TwelveLabs and LG CNS will enhance the performance of VFMs while co-designing customer-facing services tailored to industry needs. This approach ensures scalable, practical solutions that unlock the value of video data for enterprises.
LG CNS’s established presence in finance, public sector, and logistics, combined with TwelveLabs’ video AI expertise, positions the partnership to deliver transformative solutions globally. The collaboration aims to establish Korea as a leader in the AI landscape, leveraging video data to drive innovation across critical sectors.
TwelveLabs uses multimodal foundation models to bring human-like understanding to video data. The company's foundation models map natural language to what's happening inside a video, including actions, objects, and background sounds, allowing developers to create applications that can search through videos, classify scenes, summarize, and extract insights with unprecedented accuracy. Headquartered in the US, TwelveLabs serves customers across media, entertainment, sports, advertising, and government.
