The drive to manage and govern the proliferation of AI agents within the enterprise is gaining powerful new capabilities. ServiceNow, the AI platform for business transformation, has announced a suite of new and forthcoming integrations with Microsoft. The collaboration, which includes an integration with Microsoft Agent 365, is designed to deliver seamless AI agent orchestration and governance, providing joint customers with comprehensive visibility, compliance, and control over AI agents working across both platforms.
ServiceNow is integrating its AI platform with Microsoft Agent 365, Foundry, and Copilot Studio.
The AI Control Tower will provide oversight and governance for Microsoft-deployed AI agents.
An integration with GitHub will allow ServiceNow's Build Agent to automate developer tasks.
Now Assist will connect with Microsoft Agent 365 to bridge personal productivity and enterprise workflows.
The goal is to enable secure, governed, and collaborative AI agents at enterprise scale.
These integrations are expected to be generally available by the end of the year.
A cornerstone of the announcement is the integration between ServiceNow's AI Control Tower and Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio. This will allow organizations to automatically discover and manage AI agents deployed on Microsoft platforms from within the ServiceNow environment. By leveraging ServiceNow's Configuration Management Database (CMDB), the AI Control Tower provides continuous, context-rich visibility across systems, ensuring agents operate within clearly defined governance parameters. This enables consistent policy application and control, ensuring secure and accountable innovation. “By seamlessly connecting agentic orchestration and governance across ServiceNow and Microsoft, we’re giving organizations the power to manage and monitor intelligent agents that deliver real work and real impact — safely and at scale,” said Jon Sigler, EVP and GM of AI Platform at ServiceNow.
For developers, the partnership brings ServiceNow Build Agent and GitHub closer together. Through GitHub’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, ServiceNow Build Agent can securely access GitHub issues, pull requests, and discussions. This enables the automation of repetitive tasks while maintaining enterprise-grade governance and keeping developers in control. This convergence of business and code workflows is designed to eliminate context switching and boost developer focus and productivity.
A key user-facing integration will connect ServiceNow's Now Assist with Microsoft Agent 365. This bridges the gap between personal productivity apps and core enterprise workflows. It will allow AI teammates to understand both the context from a user's Microsoft 365 environment (files, emails, chats) and the structured processes from ServiceNow. This enables employees to summarize content, complete tasks, and trigger workflows securely from within familiar applications like Word, Outlook, and Teams, with all actions governed by enterprise identity and compliance controls.
This expanded collaboration between ServiceNow and Microsoft represents a significant maturation of enterprise AI. It moves beyond isolated AI tools to a connected ecosystem where AI agents can be orchestrated, monitored, and governed cohesively, turning everyday productivity into secure, enterprise-grade action and delivering measurable business outcomes.
