Qlik has announced the general availability of its agentic experience in Qlik Cloud, delivered through Qlik Answers as a unified conversational interface. The company also launched the Qlik Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in general availability, enabling third-party AI assistants—such as Anthropic Claude—to securely access Qlik’s analytical engine, governed data products, and trusted intelligence.

  • Qlik Answers now provides agentic capabilities in Qlik Cloud, combining the Qlik Analytics Engine with curated content for governed, explainable, and cited answers to natural language questions.
  • Discovery Agent continuously monitors key measures, detects meaningful anomalies, and alerts teams to material changes for proactive action.
  • Data Products for Analytics deliver curated, governed datasets with built-in stewardship and quality signals, serving as a reliable foundation for both human and AI-driven analysis.
  • The Qlik MCP server exposes Qlik’s intelligence at engine, tool, and agent levels, allowing secure integration with third-party assistants like Anthropic Claude via APIs.
  • The approach preserves business logic and context during calculations, ensuring accurate reasoning, full traceability, and auditability suitable for enterprise decision workflows.
  • These features address the shift from copilots to reasoning systems by bridging trusted data, explainability, and operational workflows in regulated environments.

Enterprises increasingly require AI solutions that move beyond proofs of concept into production with strong governance, context preservation, and accountability. Qlik’s agentic experience meets this need by integrating advanced reasoning with its unique analytics engine, governed data products, and transparent citations—enabling teams to derive insights from both structured analytics and unstructured content while maintaining traceability.

Governed, Explainable Answers via Qlik Answers

Qlik Answers leverages an agentic framework to interpret questions, perform engine-powered calculations, retrieve from curated knowledge bases, and deliver responses with clear reasoning, citations, and explanations. This ensures answers remain accurate, context-aware, and defensible, making them suitable for high-stakes business decisions.

Proactive Insight with Discovery Agent

Discovery Agent automatically monitors critical metrics and business measures, identifying significant anomalies or shifts early. By surfacing these insights proactively, it enables teams to address issues or capitalize on opportunities before they escalate, embedding analytics directly into operational workflows.

Trusted Data Foundation with Data Products

Data Products for Analytics provide curated, governed datasets complete with stewardship metadata and quality indicators. These reusable assets give both analysts and AI agents a consistent, reliable source of truth, reducing risk and accelerating insight generation across the organization.

Extending Intelligence via MCP Server

The Qlik MCP server opens Qlik’s capabilities to third-party assistants through secure APIs, allowing tools like Anthropic Claude to generate governed insights and interact with trusted data products. This extends Qlik’s analytical power into existing AI ecosystems without compromising control or compliance.

“In 2026, boards are navigating geopolitical volatility, tightening AI rules, and relentless cost pressure. That changes what enterprise AI has to be: auditable, governed, and able to act inside real workflows,” said Mike Capone, CEO, Qlik. “Qlik’s agentic experience pairs our unique analytics engine with trusted data products and cited knowledge, and our MCP server opens that intelligence to the assistants people already use. The result is faster decisions with controls you can defend.”

“AI delivers value when it’s built on data that’s already curated, governed and trusted,” said Mike Krut, senior vice president of information technology, Penske Transportation Solutions. “Qlik’s new agentic capabilities extend analytics our teams already use, helping connect insights directly to operational workflows like fleet performance and maintenance, without adding complexity.”

“The move from copilots to reasoning systems exposes a critical gap in governed context and explainability for many enterprises,” said Michael Leone, Practice Director and Principal Analytics and AI Analyst, Omdia. “Success now requires connecting trusted data directly to operational workflows with full auditability. Qlik is addressing this by pairing its analytics engine with MCP, effectively establishing the intelligence layer that agents and assistants need to operate across ecosystems.”

Qlik Answers agentic enhancements and the MCP server are generally available now in Qlik Cloud. Discovery Agent and Data Products for Analytics are scheduled to roll out shortly after.
