The acquisition is a strategic move to embed deeper AI capabilities into Pendo's platform. Chisel Labs brings expertise in building AI agents that automate manual, time-intensive product management tasks such as writing product requirement documents (PRDs), generating release notes, conducting user research, and triaging feedback. By integrating these specialized frameworks, Pendo aims to develop more advanced autonomous agents that can handle complex product workflows, helping teams move faster in an AI-accelerated development lifecycle.
As AI collapses traditional software development timelines, the core challenge shifts from building faster to understanding whether the shipped software actually delivers user and business value. Pendo's CEO, Todd Olson, highlights that combining Chisel's AI with Pendo's behavioral analytics and experience data will empower product teams to build smarter and with greater confidence, ensuring their outputs align with real-world impact.
A significant aspect of the acquisition is the establishment of Pendo's presence in India. Chisel's engineering team in Pune will form the foundation of Pendo's 10th global office and a new R&D hub. Pendo plans to rapidly scale this team to 50 engineers by the end of the year, leveraging the region's talent pool to accelerate platform development and better serve its global customer base.
