Kleene.ai has launched KAI Assistant, a native AI interface integrated directly into its AI-native data platform. The assistant allows data teams and business users to write SQL, debug pipelines, and navigate their data infrastructure using natural language, replacing manual workflows with a single conversational interface.
Data teams often spend significant time switching between SQL consoles, logs, documentation, and messaging threads. KAI Assistant addresses this challenge by embedding natural language processing directly into the platform’s transform and pipeline layer, making advanced data work accessible beyond just engineers.
“Data platforms have always demanded technical fluency to extract full value. KAI Assistant changes that,” said Ian Liddicoat, CPO at Kleene.ai. “By embedding natural language processing directly into our transform and pipeline layer, we make day-to-day data work accessible to anyone on the team — not just engineers.”
In early access, teams reported achieving 70% faster SQL generation and saving more than 20 hours per month on debugging, report building, and query optimisation.
KAI Assistant is powered by Google Gemini via Vertex AI. For added privacy, when data previews are involved, all data is first converted to synthetic form via AWS Bedrock before any LLM processing. This ensures raw customer data is never exposed to external models.
Key capabilities available at launch include:
The assistant is role-aware and access is strictly gated by user permissions. Kleene.ai does not use customer data to train any models.
This launch strengthens Kleene.ai’s position as an AI-native data platform that combines ELT data integration with machine-learning-powered analytics to help brands make faster, data-driven decisions.
