Jeff Lebold joins Hammerspace with extensive expertise in sales, market development, systems engineering, and marketing. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Sales for Asia-Pacific Enterprise Customers at Impinj, delivering consistent revenue growth. Prior to that, his 22-year tenure at Quantum Corporation saw him lead strategic expansion across a seven-country APAC territory, fostering high-performing teams and transformative market success. Fluent in Mandarin, Lebold’s ability to forge strong partnerships will bolster Hammerspace’s regional growth.
“Hammerspace offers something truly unique in the market: a high-performance data platform that transforms how enterprises access and use data for AI at scale,” said Lebold. “I’m thrilled to join this exceptional team and grow our APAC presence while strengthening our partner ecosystem to deliver greater customer success.”
Hammerspace’s APAC expansion aligns with soaring demand for AI infrastructure, with IDC projecting AI and GenAI spending in the region to reach $175 billion by 2028. The company’s recent milestones include its entry into Japan and a strategic partnership with Yition.ai in China, a leader in hyperscale AI infrastructure. Hammerspace’s Data Platform addresses the challenge of optimizing data access for AI workloads, enabling seamless storage, access, and movement across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
“AI infrastructure is becoming increasingly complex, often spanning geographies and clouds, while demand for GPU computing, storage, and data center resources has exploded,” said Jeff Giannetti, Chief Revenue Officer for Hammerspace. “Having Jeff on the ground in APAC is a game-changer as we support more customers and partners in accelerating their AI initiatives with greater efficiency and agility.”
Hammerspace’s award-winning Data Platform eliminates data silos, delivering high-performance access to unstructured data for AI workloads. Key capabilities include Tier 0 shared storage for ultra-low-latency GPU access, a unified namespace across protocols (NFS, SMB, S3), and automated data orchestration. These features enable enterprises to train thousands of GPUs, deploy large-scale inference, or maximize NVMe performance, positioning Hammerspace as a leader in AI-driven data infrastructure.
Backed by a $100 million Series B funding round in April 2025, led by Altimeter Capital and ARK Invest, Hammerspace is accelerating its global expansion. The company’s recent leadership hires, including Gregg Machon and Jeff Echols from VAST Data and WEKA, signal its growing influence in AI and hybrid cloud markets. Lebold’s appointment strengthens Hammerspace’s ability to capitalize on APAC’s AI boom, competing with storage vendors like Dell, NetApp, and Pure Storage while delivering unmatched data performance.
