Iron Software, a leading provider of .NET document processing libraries and creator of IronPDF, today emphasized its strategic alignment with the emerging agentic AI landscape. Recent 2026 technology reports from Deloitte and PwC validate a decade-long focus: AI agents require reliable, enterprise-grade tools to transition from reasoning to real-world execution, and document processing forms the foundational layer.

  • Deloitte's Tech Trends 2026 identifies agentic AI as a key force but notes only 11% of enterprises have deployed it successfully in production, stressing the need to rebuild processes for agents.
  • PwC's 2026 AI Business Predictions urges organizations to "go narrow and deep" on high-value, document-heavy workflows like finance, HR, tax, and internal audit for meaningful outcomes.
  • Iron Software's suite, led by IronPDF, enables AI agents to generate, parse, and manipulate documents reliably at scale—bridging the gap between AI intelligence and practical execution.
  • IronPDF allows developers to convert HTML to PDF in C# with a single method call, supporting automated report and proposal generation in agentic workflows.
  • The broader suite (IronOCR, IronXL, IronBarcode) handles OCR, spreadsheet operations, and barcode tasks, delivering production-proven performance across enterprise environments.
  • With .NET Conf 2025 spotlighting AI integration, Iron Software affirms .NET developers remain essential in building and orchestrating agentic systems.

Deloitte's report cautions that "processes designed for human workers don't work for agents," while PwC warns that broad crowdsourcing yields adoption but rarely business impact. Both emphasize redesigning workflows around tools that deliver consistent execution—precisely the domain Iron Software has refined since 2015.

"AI agents are only as capable as the tools they can call upon," said Jacob Mellor, CTO of Iron Software. "Consider a common enterprise workflow: an AI agent needs to pull data from a spreadsheet, generate an HTML report, and convert HTML to PDF in C# for distribution. That agent needs IronXL to read the data and IronPDF to render the final document—reliably, every single time, at scale. When Deloitte reports that enterprises are struggling to move AI from pilots to production, a significant part of that challenge is infrastructure. We've spent ten years building exactly that."

Iron Software's suite supports .NET 10 across Windows, Linux, macOS, Docker, and Azure, offering programmatic accessibility ideal for agentic architectures. Real-world examples, such as Glenn Le Marchant's automated document solution at PKF Australia, demonstrate how combining Iron libraries with AI and traditional code creates powerful, stakeholder-impressive automation.

"Ten years ago, we made a bet that developers would always need high-quality libraries for document processing," said Cameron Rimington, CEO of Iron Software. "We didn't predict the AI revolution. But we did predict that enterprises would always need to create PDFs, extract text from images, and manipulate spreadsheets. Now AI agents need to do all of those same things. PwC's report makes clear that 'technology delivers only about 20% of an initiative's value.' The other 80% comes from redesigning work around tools that actually perform. That's what we've spent a decade perfecting."

As Deloitte forecasts 33% of enterprise applications incorporating agentic AI by 2028 and up to 75% of companies investing by end-2026, Iron Software's production-ready tools position .NET developers to accelerate agentic implementations in document-intensive domains.

"The rise of agentic AI doesn't diminish the role of .NET developers—it elevates it," said Rimington. "With the right tools—like IronPDF and our broader suite—those developers can now move quicker and achieve more than ever before."
