Dynatrace has announced major updates at its Perform 2026 conference, transforming observability into an active, intelligent control layer for cloud-native and AI-driven software delivery. The enhancements unify frontend, backend, AI, database, cloud, and mobile telemetry into a seamless developer experience, enabling real-time guidance, optimization, and protection while supporting faster releases and safer experimentation in production.

Quick Intel

  • Dynatrace modernizes frontend observability with unified RUM data in Grail™ and introduces apps like Error Inspector for faster troubleshooting of real user issues.
  • Expanded mobile diagnostics help developers quickly identify and resolve Application Not Responding (ANR) events and crashes.
  • Integration with DevCycle (following acquisition) adds precise feature-level runtime controls for continuous validation, risk reduction, and automated responses.
  • End-to-end tracing connects AI calls, services, databases, and cloud infrastructure to manage complexity in AI workloads.
  • Agentic workflows and MCP Server support Claude, AWS Bedrock AgentCore, and Azure AI Foundry for safe, multi-cloud automation.
  • Live Debugger expands IDE support, including Windsurf and Cursor, for instant in-environment debugging.

Unifying Observability for Modern Software Delivery

As agentic AI and cloud-native architectures drive unprecedented release velocity, traditional observability falls short in providing active control. Dynatrace addresses this by building on its AI-native foundation—Grail™, Smartscape, and Dynatrace Intelligence—to deliver a developer-centric platform. Teams gain real-time visibility and automated actions across the full stack, enabling confident experimentation, risk management, and stability at scale in dynamic, AI-assisted environments.

Advancing Frontend and Mobile Developer Productivity

The updated frontend experience consolidates RUM data for deeper insights into user behavior and performance. New apps, including Error Inspector, accelerate root-cause analysis of frontend issues. For mobile, enhanced diagnostics provide precise context for ANRs and crashes, reducing debugging time and improving app reliability across platforms.

Bringing Runtime Control with DevCycle Integration

Through the acquisition of DevCycle, Dynatrace introduces feature-level runtime controls that combine with Dynatrace Intelligence to validate behavior continuously, mitigate risks, and automate responses from development to production. This shifts observability from passive monitoring to proactive governance, with integration efforts already progressing and additional capabilities planned.

Enabling End-to-End Visibility in AI-Driven Systems

Unified tracing spans AI interactions, application services, databases, and cloud infrastructure, offering clarity amid rising trace complexity from AI workloads. This end-to-end view supports developers and agents in reasoning about live system behavior and taking targeted actions without manual intervention.

Supporting Agentic Workflows and Multi-Model Automation

Agentic workflows, powered by the Dynatrace MCP Server, allow developers and AI agents to act on real-time observability data safely. Support for leading models and platforms—including Claude, AWS Bedrock AgentCore, and Azure AI Foundry—ensures secure automation across multi-cloud and multi-AI environments.

Streamlining Development with Live Debugger Enhancements

Expanded Live Debugger support for IDEs like Windsurf and Cursor brings instant debugging directly into developers’ workflows, reducing context-switching and accelerating troubleshooting.

“Developers within our organization are spending significantly less time now debugging, coordinating, and troubleshooting thanks to Dynatrace’s developer experience capabilities, including Live Debugger,” explains Dana Harrison at TELUS. “By reducing time and focus in these areas, we’ve been able to pivot efforts to build high-quality software with greater confidence than ever, delivering innovations faster for our business. This has all been done with no increase in risk. As we look to the future, we know we can increase developer productivity within our organization thanks to Dynatrace, confidently supporting us on our journey to improve social outcomes through technology.”

"In the era of vibe coding and AI-assisted engineering, developer experience is a critical business driver, not a mere operational concern,” said Kate Holterhoff, senior industry analyst at RedMonk. “With developers increasingly relying on AI for code generation, the importance of ensuring the quality and performance of that output—especially on the frontend and mobile interfaces—is amplified. Dynatrace's observability enhancements in this area including Real User Monitoring (RUM), Error Inspector, and ANR/crash symbolization supports DevX by providing practitioners with real-time context into user behavior and production issues.”

“Developers play a defining role in how organizations innovate and shape the technology investments that drive long-term value,” said Steve Tack, Chief Product Officer at Dynatrace. “The latest enhancements from Dynatrace enhance developer impact, improve release confidence, and operationalize software delivery across cloud native, AI native, and multicloud environments. By unifying delivery, runtime control, and insight on a single platform, we give developers direct control over how software behaves in production—so they can experiment safely, respond quickly, and turn real-world signals into real business impact.”

Several capabilities are available now, with others rolling out progressively. Perform 2026 includes developer-focused workshops, a vibe coding event, and a hackathon with Microsoft and GitHub Copilot.
