Domo has introduced new capabilities that provide administrators with enhanced control over how data is delivered across the business and how AI agents are built and deployed from that data. These updates address key challenges in managing access, organizing content, and ensuring consistent data experiences at scale.
As data products, applications, and AI-driven workflows become integral to daily operations, administrators are playing a more strategic operational role. They must ensure data is not only secure but also delivered in the right format, to the right people, at the right time.
“The hardest part of managing data at scale isn’t access. It’s making sure people see the right thing, in the right way, at the right time,” said Ben Schein, Chief Analytics Officer and SVP of Product at Domo. “That depends on governance being built into how data is delivered, not layered on afterward. Administrators are responsible for delivering data that is secure and tailored to how people actually work, and these updates give them the tools to do that with more precision and less friction.”
At the core of the announcement is User Impersonation, a highly requested capability that allows authorized administrators to view and interact with Domo as another user. This feature simplifies diagnosing permission-related issues without relying on screenshots or lengthy communication. It is expected to be available early in the second half of this year.
Domo introduced Native App Distribution, which enables organizations to deploy Domo applications as standalone, branded mobile apps in the Apple App Store and Google Play. This allows focused, role-specific applications to be delivered directly to executives, partners, and frontline teams. Native App Distribution is expected to be available in beta this summer.
New Global PDP Policies allow administrators to define a single data access policy and apply it across multiple datasets, reducing duplication and ensuring consistency. Column masking with calculated field support is now generally available, extending governance into more complex data models.
Nav Configs, now generally available, enable administrators to define consistent navigation experiences for specific groups or the entire organization, helping prevent content sprawl. Workspaces have been expanded in beta to allow teams to create curated content hubs with organized folders and key assets.
These capabilities shift administrators from gatekeepers to orchestrators of data delivery. By combining governance, distribution, and experience design in one platform, Domo helps organizations scale data efforts while maintaining control, especially as AI agents and workflows expand across the business.
