Cognizant has expanded its global AI innovation footprint with the opening of an Artificial Intelligence Lab and a Cognizant Moment™ Studio in Bengaluru, India. This new hub merges advanced AI research with human-centered experience design, forming a key component of the company's three-year, $1 billion generative AI investment and its strategy to act as an enterprise "AI builder."

The Bengaluru hub is designed to accelerate enterprise transformation by integrating two critical disciplines. The India AI Lab will conduct applied research in areas like multi-agent architectures, trustworthy decision-making, and responsible AI, building on the patent-winning work of Cognizant's San Francisco lab. Adjacent to it, the Cognizant Moment™ Studio focuses on leveraging these AI advancements to reimagine customer and user experiences, ensuring technology implementations are both powerful and intuitive.
This combined approach addresses a core challenge in enterprise AI adoption: ensuring sophisticated AI systems are paired with trustworthy, effective design to support dependable business decision-making and user adoption.
Cognizant positions itself as an "AI builder" that connects client infrastructure investments to realized business value. The India AI Lab is central to this, staffed with PhD-level scientists and engineers tasked with developing proprietary frameworks, reusable AI components, and experiential platforms. Their work aims to set new industry benchmarks, particularly in the evolving field of Agentic AI, which is seen as essential for next-generation enterprise solutions.
