Citrix, a Cloud Software Group company, today announced new capabilities across Citrix SecurSpaces, Citrix SecurAccess and Citrix Platform Flex designed to help organizations securely deploy AI agents, govern AI-powered work and scale adoption across enterprise. These updates include expansion of SecurSpaces to wider set of personas, new AI governance capabilities for SecurAccess, and new credit-based model offering more flexible way to consume Citrix solutions.

Quick Intel

  • Citrix advances secure AI adoption with governance capabilities, agentic workspaces and flexible consumption options.
  • Expands SecurSpaces to support agentic workloads for knowledge workers and AI engineers with managed agents from Anthropic, OpenAI.
  • New SecurAccess AI governance includes autonomous browsing detection, agentic access governance via MCP and Session Insights.
  • Introduces Citrix Platform Credits consumption-based licensing model with single credit pool across Citrix portfolio.
  • SecurSpaces updates generally available now, SecurAccess updates available by end of month with Community Edition free.
  • Addresses governance gap with only 21% enterprises having mature governance model for agentic AI per Deloitte survey.

Securely Deploy, Govern and Scale AI-Powered Work

As AI evolves from conversational assistants into autonomous agents capable of interacting with enterprise systems and executing complex tasks, organizations seek ways to accelerate AI adoption without sacrificing security, visibility or control. Citrix is expanding portfolio to help govern AI agents, control which resources they can access, and maintain visibility into how AI-powered work is performed.

"The organizations that will benefit most from AI won't be the ones that move fastest. They'll be the ones that can adapt fastest," said Hector Lima, president of Citrix. "That requires foundation of visibility, governance, and control across users, applications, and AI agents. With these innovations across SecurSpaces, SecurAccess and new credit-based licensing model, we're helping customers build adaptive enterprises that can securely embrace AI, govern how work gets done, and evolve as business needs change."

Citrix expands SecurSpaces to support deployment of AI agents for additional personas. Originally designed to deliver cloud development environments, SecurSpaces now enables organizations to provision, secure, and govern AI-powered workspaces across broader range of employees, applications, and autonomous agentic workloads including managed agents from providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI and more.

Within SecurSpaces, agents execute inside isolated environments with access only to resources required for assigned tasks. Credential protection mechanisms keep sensitive application credentials outside execution environment. Organizations define approved execution environments once and deploy repeatedly across teams maintaining consistent governance. To support expansion, Citrix plans to release Knowledge Worker Agent for SecurSpaces as open source under Apache 2.0 license providing business teams conversational assistant within governed environment.

New AI Governance Capabilities for SecurAccess

Agentic AI scaling faster than many enterprises' governance models. Deloitte survey found only 21% enterprises have mature governance model for agentic AI. As agents begin taking actions across business systems, organizations must consider new security challenges.

New capabilities coming to Citrix SecurAccess include autonomous browsing activity detection where SecurAccess with Chrome Enterprise can determine when automation rather than person is driving browser activity with options to monitor, notify, record or block. Agentic access governance where SecurAccess ZTNA becomes policy control point limiting AI agents to only tools and actions they need for specific task through Model Context Protocol rather than everything user can access. For example, agent asked to investigate disputed supplier payment can review relevant records but cannot approve or change payments. Session Insights with AI governance captures, analyzes and helps understand browser activity from both users and autonomous agents highlighting potentially risky moments.

Flexible Consumption with Platform Credits

To help organizations adopt and scale capabilities more flexibly, Citrix introduces Citrix Platform Credits, consumption-based licensing model enabling customers to draw from single credit pool across lifecycle of Citrix contract allowing scale usage up or down based on evolving needs. Model builds on May launch of persona-based platform Citrix Platform Flex evolved from credit-based model for managed services to self-hosted and self-managed deployments across entire portfolio. Shared pool can be used across broader portfolio including virtual desktops and applications, secure access services, secure agentic workspaces, browser-based work, AI knowledge-work use cases, endpoint delivery technologies.

Rather than applying single licensing model to every user, Platform Credits align consumption with how different workers consume technology. Task workers, knowledge workers, power users and developers use applications, infrastructure, and compute resources differently. For example, retail chain may allocate more credits to DaaS desktops for sales personas during peak holiday season then divert credits to accounting teams during tax season.

Availability

Citrix SecurSpaces updates generally available now, while Citrix SecurAccess updates available by end of month. These can be consumed through Citrix Platform Credits and through traditional licensing options. To support evaluation and adoption, Citrix also introducing free Citrix SecurSpaces Community Edition providing path from experimentation to enterprise-wide deployment.

About Citrix

Citrix sets the governance for how enterprise applications are secured, accessed, and experienced. As applications evolve, data migrates, devices multiply, and AI transforms how work gets done, today's workforce is more complex than ever. Founded on pioneering secure remote access, Citrix has evolved into platform that supports full application value chain - from secure desktop, application delivery, and enterprise browser to zero-trust access, network intelligence, and endpoint control.

For over 35 years, Citrix has helped enterprises navigate every major shift - from client-server to persona-based computing, from office-based to remote work, on-premises data centers to hybrid and multi-cloud, and now proliferation of AI in workplace.
