  • Board introduces Board Agents on Microsoft Foundry, using Azure agentic AI tools for secure, cloud-native innovation in enterprise planning.
  • Initial release features FP&A and Controller Agents for finance, with Merchandiser and Supply Chain Agents to follow shortly after.
  • Agents are natively integrated into Board’s platform, leveraging existing data models, assumptions, calculations, and governance policies.
  • Persona-based agents collaborate in multi-agent orchestration for complex, cross-functional planning decisions and scenario analysis.
  • Combines with Board Foresight for advanced predictive forecasting, trade-off evaluation, and external factor modeling.

Delivering Context-Aware AI for Real-World Planning

Board, a leading Enterprise Planning Platform, announced a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to launch Board Agents, an intelligent suite of domain-specific AI agents designed to support high-impact planning decisions. Built natively on Microsoft Foundry using Azure’s agentic AI capabilities, Board Agents mark the first major AI innovation developed through this partnership, enabling secure, governed, and scalable AI deployment within enterprise planning workflows.

“As interest in AI accelerates, many customers are looking for clear paths to achieve real ROI,” said David Marmer, Chief Product Officer. “Because Board Agents are built around business-contextual use cases that solve real-world problems, customers can reach value faster and easily adapt these agents as their business evolves. We’re not bolting AI onto Board—we’re embedding it deeply into our engine, so it understands customers’ data, processes, and data-access policies.”

The initial launch includes FP&A and Controller Agents tailored for the Office of Finance, with Merchandiser and Supply Chain Agents scheduled for release soon after. These agents operate directly within the Board platform, ensuring they are fully aware of the organization’s planning models, data structures, assumptions, and access controls.

Key Differentiators of Board Agents

Board Agents stand out through several enterprise-focused capabilities:

  • Persona-based, use-case specific agents deliver contextually relevant insights for distinct planning roles and scenarios.
  • Collaborative multi-agent orchestration enables agents to work together on complex, multi-dimensional decisions spanning functions and priorities.
  • Deep integration with the Board platform ensures agents utilize the same data, models, and governance already in place.
  • Seamless combination with Board Foresight supports integrated forecasting, scenario planning, trade-off analysis, outcome modeling, and assessment of external influences on performance.

Adam Hancock, Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis at EBSCO Industries, highlighted the practical value: “What impresses me most is the FP&A Agent’s ability to triangulate. It takes our detailed balance sheet and income statement and synthesizes everything into clear, actionable insights — incredibly valuable for us at EBSCO.”

Enterprise-Grade Design and Microsoft Collaboration

Board Agents are engineered for enterprise deployment, emphasizing flexibility, governance, security, and ethical controls. The partnership with Microsoft ensures agents can adapt rapidly to evolving AI technology while maintaining strong protections for data privacy and accuracy.

“Deploying AI in the enterprise requires flexibility, governance, and a foundation of trust,” said Peter Skov, Senior Director of EMEA at Microsoft. “Built on Microsoft Foundry, Board Agents are designed using a multi-agent orchestration approach to quickly adapt as AI technology evolves, while maintaining strong ethical controls for accuracy, security, and data privacy. Our collaboration with Board helps organizations apply AI responsibly in complex planning environments where confidence in the results is critical.”

The FP&A and Controller Agents will be available globally starting March 31, 2026, and will also be accessible through the Microsoft Marketplace. Merchandiser and Supply Chain Agents are expected shortly thereafter.
