Beroe and Kearney Launch AI-Native Procurement Decision Engine MAX
Beroe, a global procurement intelligence provider, and Kearney, the management consulting firm, have introduced Beroe MAX powered by Kearney, an AI-native decision engine designed to help procurement teams make faster, context-aware sourcing and risk decisions. Announced at DPW NYC, the platform is built to combine market intelligence, procurement expertise, and enterprise data into a continuously operating procurement intelligence system.
The launch reflects growing pressure on procurement leaders to manage resilience, ESG exposure, supplier risk, tariff fluctuations, and cost optimization in increasingly volatile supply markets. Traditional procurement operating models often rely on fragmented tools and periodic strategy updates, creating delays between intelligence gathering and operational execution.
Procurement teams are increasingly expected to manage broader business priorities while working with limited resources. According to Beroe and Kearney, organizations are facing three major operational challenges: rapidly changing supply markets, fragmented procurement technology ecosystems, and the lack of an intelligent system that can connect data directly to procurement actions.
Beroe MAX aims to bridge that gap by functioning as a connecting layer between intelligence and execution systems. The platform continuously combines Beroe’s market intelligence and third-party data with Kearney’s consulting methodologies, benchmarks, and procurement frameworks. These insights are then applied against an organization’s own spend data, contracts, and supplier ecosystem to generate procurement recommendations in real time.
The system is designed to identify sourcing risks and procurement opportunities as they emerge. For example, when commodity prices fluctuate, tariffs change, or supplier risk profiles shift, MAX reassesses affected procurement categories and surfaces recommended actions before procurement teams manually initiate analysis.
The platform is built on a neurosymbolic framework that combines agentic AI capabilities with procurement-specific logic and workflows. By embedding intelligence directly into procurement operations, Beroe and Kearney aim to help organizations move from reactive sourcing processes toward continuous procurement optimization.
“CPOs are being asked to deliver competitive advantage in markets that move in hours, not quarters. MAX gives procurement leaders the real-time visibility and prioritized recommendations they need to anticipate shifts, focus where it matters, and move decisively. This is not a faster version of the function procurement has always been. It is a different function, one that stops waiting to be asked. It moves from responding to anticipating, from episodic to continuous. That is what it means to compete,” said Suketu Gandhi, Co-leader of Global Strategic Operations, Kearney.
The companies stated that MAX was developed in collaboration with a Strategic Advisory Council comprising 13 global procurement organizations representing complex supply chains. These organizations contributed to product validation, procurement use cases, and roadmap planning.
Beroe and Kearney believe AI-driven procurement intelligence can help category managers extend their coverage beyond high-value suppliers and strategic categories. Traditionally, procurement teams prioritize a limited percentage of spend categories due to time and analytical constraints.
A member of the Strategic Advisory Council said, “Today, category managers are forced to be selective; focusing on the top 20 percent of spend, the most strategic suppliers, and the categories with the largest potential savings. Smaller opportunities go unrecognized because the analytical cost outweighs the return. MAX changes the economics of that decision. Category managers can now cover every supplier, every category, every day.”
The platform also integrates ESG considerations, supplier risk data, and sourcing intelligence into a unified decision environment, enabling procurement teams to evaluate business impact across multiple operational dimensions simultaneously.
The launch of Beroe MAX highlights the growing adoption of AI-powered procurement platforms focused on operational intelligence and automated decision support. Procurement leaders are increasingly seeking systems capable of delivering real-time recommendations rather than static reporting and isolated analytics.
“The processes procurement relies on today were built for a world that no longer exists. Teams have always had access to market data, but what they have lacked is a system that connects that data to their specific spend, applies procurement logic, and tells them where to act, continuously. MAX puts that capability into the hands of every category manager, not just the ones in the room with a consultant, enabling decisions and outcomes that were previously impossible,” said Vel Dhinagaravel, Founder and CEO, Beroe.
Beroe MAX will initially be made available to select customers over the coming months as the companies continue expanding AI-enabled procurement intelligence capabilities for enterprise sourcing and supplier management.
