SEON Expands Signal Intelligence to Catch Fraud Rings as AI Fuels Fake Identities

SEON Expands Signal Intelligence to Catch Fraud Rings as AI Fuels Fake Identities

SEON, the AI Command Center for Fraud Prevention and AML Compliance, today announced its Signal Intelligence expansion, growing the platform's signal foundation from 900+ to more than 1,100 proprietary, directly sourced data points. New coverage spans address intelligence, session behavior and phone and carrier data, alongside deeper digital footprint and device signals. The expansion helps risk teams expose identity inconsistencies and the infrastructure connecting fraud rings, without adding another step to the customer journey.

Reveal the History AI Cannot Instantly Create

It is getting harder to tell whether a customer is genuine. Fraudsters had to assemble identity evidence, complete each form and operate accounts one by one. Faking a customer identity used to take effort; now it takes an internet connection and a prompt. GenAI tools can produce believable profiles and consistent device histories in minutes. According to the Financial Action Task Force, anyone with a smartphone can generate convincing deepfakes in the time it takes to set up a social media profile. ACAMS reports that 75% of anti-financial crime professionals rank GenAI misuse as their top emerging risk for the third consecutive year.

The challenge for fraud teams is that each individual signal can look legitimate on its own. An email passes validation. A device appears clean. An address checks out. The fraud only becomes visible when those signals are checked against each other. SEON's expansion gives risk teams more independent evidence across each of those layers.

Digital Footprint checks show where an email or phone appears across services people use over time. Expanded coverage includes AI developer platforms, job boards, real estate sites and dating apps. Phone Intelligence adds SIM-swap and porting history. Together, these signals help teams judge whether an identity and phone number have existed beyond this moment in time.

Expose Infrastructure Fraud Rings Reuse

Address Intelligence turns messy address strings into a risk signal by verifying and standardizing addresses across 240+ countries, assigning consistent identifiers to the exact address and building. Those identifiers expose when unrelated accounts cycle through unit numbers or formatting variations at the same location. Device Intelligence expanded signals also surface AI-agent activity, compromised iOS devices, Android eSIM mismatches and network-country discrepancies when a VPN masks the visible IP.

Understand Intent as It Develops

Session Monitoring tracks the customer's behavior from onboarding through login, account recovery, checkout and payment. Teams can detect automation, remote access, off-screen activity and active calls while a session is underway, so they can intervene before the suspicious activity turns into an account takeover.

Sharpen Every Decision, Agentic and Human

Inside SEON's AI Command Center, fraud and risk teams can use the new signals in rules, alerts, customer reviews and network investigations. Every signal in this expansion is also available to connect to the investigator's AI tools of choice through SEON's Model Context Protocol server, so agents reason from real evidence with all context in one place. Human analysts and AI agents can work from the same signal foundation, carrying evidence from detection into investigation and action.

Executive Perspective

"AI has made a believable identity cheap to produce. What fraudsters cannot easily do at scale is build a consistent history for every account without reusing infrastructure," said Tamas Kadar, CEO and Co-Founder of SEON. "That is where our signal foundation makes the difference. The more dimensions a fraud team can check simultaneously, the harder it is to hide an identity that does not add up."

Hidden Risk Files Series

SEON has also launched its Hidden Risk Files series, a set of short investigations written by its fraud consultants that show how specific signals catch fraud others miss. The first installment reveals how a single device attribute, a screen-brightness reading, connected thousands of accounts in a fraud ring operating across real Android hardware.

About SEON

SEON is the AI command center for real-time fraud prevention and AML compliance, helping thousands of companies worldwide stop fraud, reduce risk and protect revenue. Powered by 1,100+ real-time, first-party data signals, SEON enriches customer profiles, flags suspicious behavior and streamlines compliance workflows. SEON's AI detects hidden fraud networks, builds rules, visualizes data and drafts regulatory reports. Teams can also connect their own AI tools directly to SEON's risk data through a secure integration.
