Business Insider recognizes publicly traded U.S. companies setting industry benchmarks through technological leadership and reputation, patent impact, and strategic research and development investments. Developed with research firm Plant-A Insights Group, the ranking included the top 500 companies following a quantitative evaluation which analyzed more than 4,000 organizations. The inaugural study synthesized over 260,000 peer evaluations from more than 67,000 U.S. professionals.
