  • June 3, 2026

Immuta has introduced three new capabilities on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud designed to help enterprises govern and provision secure data access for AI agents at scale. Announced during Snowflake Summit 2026, the new offerings aim to address growing enterprise concerns around AI governance, compliance, and policy-driven data access as organizations increasingly deploy agentic AI systems.

The capabilities leverage Snowflake Cortex AI and Snowflake Horizon Catalog to provide controlled, auditable, and policy-enforced data access for both human users and AI-driven workflows.

  • Immuta launched three new AI governance capabilities on Snowflake AI Data Cloud.
  • The offerings focus on secure data provisioning for enterprise AI agents.
  • Snowflake Cortex AI powers natural language query planning capabilities.
  • Immuta enables policy-driven, temporary access roles for AI agents.
  • The new tools include governance controls, audit trails, and compliance visibility.
  • The capabilities are available through Snowflake Marketplace.

Immuta Expands Governance for Enterprise AI Agents

As enterprises accelerate AI adoption, organizations are facing increasing pressure to manage how AI agents access sensitive business data. Immuta stated that the new capabilities are designed to help organizations scale AI deployments without compromising governance, compliance, or security standards.

“The bottleneck for enterprise AI isn't the model, it's the trust,” said Steve Touw, CTO and Co-founder at Immuta. “By combining Snowflake Cortex AI's native query planning with Immuta's policy-driven access provisioning, joint customers can now deploy AI agents that are both highly capable and strictly governed. That's what it means to provision data for the agentic era.”

One of the newly introduced capabilities, Immuta Agentic Data Access powered by Snowflake Cortex AI, allows AI agents to interact with enterprise datasets through natural language queries while enforcing user-specific access controls at the session level.

According to Immuta, every AI interaction is provisioned through a temporary role tied directly to the authorizing user, ensuring AI systems cannot access data beyond approved permissions.

New Capabilities Focus on Compliance and Auditability

Immuta also introduced Agent Principal Context, which extends Snowflake’s agent principal framework to govern AI agent access to external datasets beyond Snowflake environments.

The company stated that the capability provisions access dynamically using zero standing privileges while maintaining dual-identity audit trails that connect every AI agent action back to the authorized user.

The third launch, the Immuta “Comply” App for Snowflake Horizon Catalog, provides compliance and security teams with a natural language interface for querying governance and permission structures within Snowflake environments.

The application is designed to simplify oversight and make enterprise permission models more transparent and searchable for compliance operations.

“As AI agents become central to how enterprises interact with data, governance capabilities must keep pace,” said Prasanna Krishnan, Head of Horizon Catalog and Marketplace, Snowflake. “We look forward to driving deeper value for Snowflake's AI Data Cloud ecosystem through collaboration with Immuta to allow access to governed, policy-driven agentic data access through Snowflake's single, integrated platform.”

Growing Demand for AI Governance and Trusted Data Access

The announcement reflects broader industry demand for governance frameworks capable of supporting large-scale AI deployments while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational trust.

Immuta said the partnership with Snowflake is intended to help enterprises provision secure AI-driven access faster without relying on manual governance processes that often delay data availability.

The company also emphasized that the capabilities are designed to support both human and AI data consumers as organizations increasingly integrate AI agents into enterprise workflows and operational systems.

By combining Snowflake Cortex AI, Horizon Catalog, and Immuta’s policy-driven provisioning capabilities, the companies aim to create a more scalable governance framework for agentic AI deployments across complex enterprise data environments.
