  • Alocity expands AI Operating System with Mercury's open access control infrastructure support announced Sept 8, 2026.
  • Combines Mercury proven controller foundation with Alocity cloud-native access, AI Video, Aimee operator, intercom, visitor management.
  • Strategy: open infrastructure underneath, intelligent software above it, avoiding closed ecosystem lock-in.
  • Aimee AI operator enables natural language queries across access, cameras, visitors, intercoms, AI Video Agents.
  • Mercury provides open controller architecture; Alocity AIVR works with existing IP cameras adding AI search and detection.
  • Built for integrator channel allowing modernization without proprietary hardware replacement, leading with business problems.

Modernizing Access Control Without Closing the Ecosystem

The collaboration represents an important step forward for a physical security industry that has historically required customers to choose between proven infrastructure and the latest generation of cloud and AI software. With Mercury as an open access control foundation, Alocity can deliver a modern software and AI experience while preserving flexibility that security integrators and enterprise customers expect from open architecture.

Access control infrastructure is designed to remain in buildings for many years. Controllers, readers, locks, cameras, and field wiring often outlive multiple generations of software. Alocity believes modernization should not require customers to abandon those investments simply to gain access to modern cloud management, AI, mobile credentials, video intelligence, or automation. Mercury's open architecture provides the infrastructure foundation for that strategy. Alocity adds the intelligence layer connecting access control with AI-powered video, intercom, visitor management, workflows, and operational data through one cloud platform.

"Mercury represents what the physical security industry needs more of: open infrastructure and customer choice. We can combine that proven access control foundation with an entirely new generation of AI-driven software," said Marco Quintero, Founder and CEO, Alocity.

From Access Control Software to an AI Operating System

The larger opportunity is not simply moving access control software to the cloud. Alocity is building an AI operating layer across the physical environment. Through Aimee, Alocity's AI operator, authorized users can interact with access control, cameras, visitors, intercoms, and AI Video Agents using natural language. Instead of treating access control, video, and visitor management as separate applications, Alocity allows these systems to share context and operate together.

On the video side, Alocity AIVR works with existing IP cameras to add AI search, real-time detection, contextual reasoning, and AI Video Agents. On the access side, Mercury provides an open controller architecture capable of supporting broad ecosystem of readers, credentials, locking hardware, and downstream devices. Alocity connects these environments through one AI-driven Control Center. The result gives customers and integrators greater freedom to select hardware that fits each project while standardizing software, intelligence, and user experience.

"Our partners already understand Mercury and why open architecture matters. Alocity gives them a new software and AI platform to bring to those conversations," said DJ Atkins, SVP, Channel Development.
