Xebia has introduced Xebia Axis: Agentic Data Foundation, a new solution designed to help enterprises modernize their data infrastructure for AI adoption. Combining proprietary AI agents with human data engineering expertise, the platform automates enterprise data assessment, migration, monitoring, and operations while maintaining governance, security, and data quality. According to Xebia, the solution can complete enterprise data migrations approximately three times faster than traditional human-led approaches.
As organizations accelerate AI adoption, many continue to struggle with fragmented data environments and governance issues that limit production-ready AI deployments.
Xebia developed Axis to address these challenges by preparing enterprise data platforms for autonomous AI systems. While traditional data platforms were built primarily for human users capable of navigating inconsistencies, AI agents require governed, reliable, and production-ready data environments to operate effectively.
The solution combines AI automation with human oversight throughout the entire data lifecycle. Human engineering teams establish governance policies and strategic direction, while AI agents automate assessment, migration, monitoring, and remediation tasks with significantly greater operational efficiency.
"Enterprises have spent years moving data to the cloud, but many still cannot put AI into production because the underlying data and governance are not ready," said Anand Sahay, Chief Executive Officer, Xebia. "Xebia Axis closes that gap, so our clients can move to an Agentic Enterprise faster than competitors still wrestling with legacy data platforms."
Rather than requiring multiple disconnected tools, Xebia Axis provides an integrated platform covering every stage of enterprise data modernization.
Its six core modules include:
Together, these modules help organizations move from fragmented data environments to production-ready, self-healing data platforms in weeks rather than months.
Governance is embedded directly into the platform rather than implemented as a separate layer after deployment.
Xebia Axis includes integrated controls for access management, audit logging, data residency, and bias management while ensuring enterprise data remains within customer-controlled environments. This approach enables organizations to automate large portions of their data engineering processes without sacrificing compliance, security, or governance.
"The same agent technology that makes data debt urgent also makes it faster to resolve," said Niels Zeilemaker, Xebia’s Global CTO Data & AI. "Xebia Axis puts purpose-built agents alongside senior engineers to build and run data platforms in production, with governance built into the platform itself."
The solution is designed to integrate with enterprise technology stacks rather than requiring customers to adopt a single vendor ecosystem.
Xebia Axis supports cloud platforms including Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric. It also works with multiple leading large language models, including Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, and Mistral AI, allowing organizations to evolve their AI strategies while maintaining architectural flexibility.
Xebia highlighted several early customer deployments across different industries.
A global banking organization used Axis to consolidate fraud detection and credit data into a unified governed platform supporting real-time AI models while reducing long-term infrastructure costs.
A global airline modernized fragmented operational and customer data environments. By automating estate discovery, code conversion, and validation, the company reduced migration timelines from the traditional 12 to 18 months to only a few months.
Meanwhile, a global retailer consolidated duplicate data pipelines into a continuously monitored governed platform, improving data consistency while identifying and resolving quality issues before they affected downstream reporting and operations.
Xebia Axis is now available globally. Organizations can begin with Xebia Axis Readiness, a standalone assessment that delivers a data readiness score, enterprise data inventory, and migration roadmap within two to four weeks. Assessment fees are credited toward a subsequent migration project.
The launch builds upon Xebia's expanding AI portfolio, following the recent introduction of Xebia Ace, its AI-native software engineering framework designed to accelerate software development by embedding AI across the software development lifecycle.
By combining AI automation with governed engineering practices, Xebia aims to help enterprises establish trusted, production-ready data foundations capable of supporting large-scale AI initiatives and future Agentic Enterprise architectures.
