Gracenote Launches Content Connect for Precise CTV Ad Targeting

Gracenote Launches Content Connect for Precise CTV Ad Targeting

Gracenote, Nielsen’s entertainment metadata leader, has officially launched Gracenote Content Connect – a new platform that gives agencies, brands, SSPs, and DSPs direct access to its industry-standard program metadata and unique content IDs. The solution finally enables true program-level ad targeting, buying, and reporting across the fragmented CTV landscape.

Quick Intel

  • Direct access to Gracenote’s gold-standard program metadata & TMS IDs
  • Enables precise, brand-safe program-level CTV ad targeting (genre, mood, rating)
  • Supports hands-on PMP/PG deal creation or activation via partner SSPs/DSPs
  • Solves the “same show, different name” problem with universal content identifiers
  • Transparent post-campaign reporting and performance measurement
  • Available now; exclusive previews at CES 2026 (Jan 6–8)

Ending the CTV Fragmentation Headache

With the same TV show or movie distributed across dozens of ad-supported platforms under different titles and IDs, advertisers have struggled to target content consistently and avoid brand-unsafe placements at scale. Gracenote Content Connect eliminates that chaos by providing a single, standardized content graph that both buyers and sellers speak the same language.

Flexible Activation for Every Workflow

Media buyers can:

  • Log in directly to build and launch private marketplace (PMP) and programmatic guaranteed (PG) deals themselves
  • Or let preferred SSPs and DSPs handle deal creation and activation using the same Gracenote metadata backbone

Either path delivers full control over contextual signals (genre, rating, mood, cast, etc.) while maintaining privacy compliance and massive reach.

“Gracenote data is widely recognized as the media industry’s gold-standard for powering consumer entertainment search and discovery broadly,” said Kanishk Prasad, VP of Product at Gracenote. “By opening up access to content-based signals which enable smarter CTV ad targeting and better campaign performance, we’re taking a big step towards giving advertisers transparency, control and maximum scale across all CTV platforms.”

The launch builds on Gracenote’s decades-long dominance in entertainment metadata – already trusted by virtually every major streaming platform and publisher – and extends that same reliability into the advertising supply chain.

Gracenote will showcase Content Connect by appointment only at CES 2026 (January 6–8). Schedule a meeting here.
