Core Scientific has strengthened its leadership team by appointing technology executive Mark W. Adams to its Board of Directors. The move comes as the company continues expanding its high-density colocation (HDC) platform to meet growing demand for AI infrastructure and advanced computing services.

With more than three decades of leadership experience spanning AI infrastructure, semiconductors, enterprise hardware, and data storage, Adams is expected to support Core Scientific's long-term strategy of scaling its digital infrastructure business.

Core Scientific Expands Board with AI Infrastructure Executive

Core Scientific has announced the appointment of Mark W. Adams to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. The addition increases the company's board from six to seven directors as it continues investing in high-density colocation infrastructure designed to support artificial intelligence workloads.

Adams joins the board with extensive executive leadership experience across AI infrastructure, semiconductors, enterprise hardware, digital media, and storage technologies.

Technology Leadership Strengthens AI Infrastructure Strategy

Most recently, Adams served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Penguin Solutions, Inc. (formerly SMART Global Holdings, Inc.) from 2020 through 2026. During his tenure, he led the company's strategic transformation toward AI infrastructure solutions, including memory technologies and IT services serving enterprise and hyperscale customers.

Before Penguin Solutions, Adams spent a decade at Micron Technology, where he held several senior leadership positions, including serving as President for four years.

Industry Experience Supports Future Growth

In addition to his executive leadership roles, Adams currently serves on the board of directors of Seagate Technology Holdings Public Limited Company, a position he has held since 2024, and Cadence Design Systems, Inc., where he has served as a director since 2015.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College.
