RSA, the security-first identity leader, has announced the general availability of RSA® ID Plus for Microsoft, a new solution category designed to add an enhanced security layer to Microsoft Entra ID. The first product, RSA ID Plus M1, now available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, provides key capabilities to defend against emerging attacks and ensure operational continuity for both Microsoft and non-Microsoft environments.
RSA launches ID Plus for Microsoft, a new security layer for Microsoft Entra ID.
It extends modern MFA and passwordless security to legacy, OT, and non-Microsoft systems.
The solution ensures availability with Hybrid HA architecture and offline capabilities.
A key feature, Help Desk Live Verify, stops MFA bypass and social engineering attacks.
It is designed for high-security sectors like finance, healthcare, and government.
The solution integrates with Entra ID Plan 1 and 2 to close security gaps.
A primary function of RSA ID Plus is to provide comprehensive coverage for an organization's entire digital estate, not just cloud applications. It brings modern multi-factor authentication (MFA) and passwordless security to environments that Microsoft Entra ID alone cannot protect. This includes critical infrastructure such as data centers, mainframes, macOS devices, AD-joined and Entra-joined PCs (including older OS versions), and operational technology (OT) systems, ensuring no resource is left vulnerable.
The solution is built with two critical security pillars: operational resilience and advanced threat prevention. Its unique Hybrid High Availability (HA) architecture and offline capabilities ensure that mission-critical on-premises resources and off-network laptops remain protected and accessible even during cloud outages. To combat sophisticated threats, the Help Desk Live Verify feature uses patent-pending, phishing-resistant identity assurance to stop attackers who target IT help desks to bypass MFA through social engineering, a common attack vector.
RSA ID Plus for Microsoft is specifically tailored for high-security, highly regulated industries that manage complex, hybrid infrastructures. Greg Nelson, CEO of RSA, emphasized this focus, stating, “RSA ID Plus for Microsoft ensures that banks, hospitals, government agencies, and powerplants can deploy modern security solutions to defend themselves from emerging threats while still ensuring resilient operations." Laura Marx, RSA Chief Marketing and Growth Officer, added that the layered approach with Microsoft delivers both "scaled cloud infrastructure and deep identity security expertise" needed to stop AI-powered threats.
By integrating seamlessly with Microsoft Entra ID, RSA ID Plus M1 enables organizations to build a more robust and resilient identity security posture. It effectively bridges the gap between modern cloud identity management and the practical realities of complex, hybrid IT environments, allowing high-security organizations to modernize their defenses without compromising on protection or availability.
