Lookout has introduced the Mobile Software Exposure Center (MSEC), a new capability integrated into its Mobile Endpoint Security platform that helps organizations identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across mobile software ecosystems. Lookout Extends Exposure Management to Mobile Software

As AI accelerates vulnerability discovery and cyberattack development, organizations face increasing pressure to secure mobile software environments that have traditionally lacked comprehensive exposure management.

Lookout's Mobile Software Exposure Center (MSEC) addresses this challenge by extending continuous exposure management to mobile applications. Integrated directly into the company's Mobile Endpoint Security platform, MSEC provides visibility into exploitable vulnerabilities across enterprise mobile ecosystems.

The company notes that advances in AI are enabling attackers to discover and exploit software vulnerabilities far more quickly, creating what security researchers describe as a potential surge of AI-driven zero-day attacks.

Closing the Mobile Security Visibility Gap

According to Lookout, existing Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) platforms provide extensive visibility across cloud infrastructure, servers, endpoints, identities, and networks but often lack insight into compiled mobile applications.

Modern mobile applications typically incorporate proprietary code, open-source libraries, embedded SDKs, third-party APIs, and operating system frameworks, making software supply chain visibility increasingly complex.

Lookout introduced five primary capabilities within the Mobile Software Exposure Center to help organizations manage mobile software risk.

  • Fleet-Wide Risk Correlation to identify vulnerable software versions across enterprise mobile fleets using CVE databases, threat intelligence, and the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog.
  • Component-Level Exposure Impact Analysis that automatically generates Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) from compiled iOS and Android applications using binary fingerprinting without requiring source code.
  • Adaptive, Context-Aware Enforcement that dynamically adjusts security policies based on vulnerability severity, remediation status, and available patches.
  • Vendor Security Hygiene Tracking to measure software publisher responsiveness through metrics such as Mean Time to Patch (MTTP).
  • Integration with Exposure Management Platforms to enable mobile software risk to be managed alongside other enterprise assets within existing CTEM workflows.

Together, these capabilities provide security teams with greater visibility into mobile software vulnerabilities while improving remediation prioritization.

Lookout says its platform draws on telemetry collected from more than 235 million protected devices and 400 million analyzed mobile applications to strengthen enterprise mobile security.
