Bugcrowd has announced the launch of its new Data Residency Option for the European Union, aimed at helping organizations meet growing regional data sovereignty and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
The company stated that the new configuration provides a dedicated EU-hosted environment operating through AWS Frankfurt, allowing European organizations to access Bugcrowd’s global offensive security testing capabilities while ensuring sensitive data remains within the region.
According to Bugcrowd, organizations across Europe are facing increased pressure to comply with evolving regional data protection regulations and sovereignty expectations.
The company stated that its EU Data Residency Option is designed to help customers reduce cybersecurity risk while maintaining compliance with EU data privacy standards.
The deployment leverages Bugcrowd’s enterprise-grade infrastructure hosted in AWS Frankfurt and supports organizations seeking localized handling of personally identifiable information (PII) and vulnerability data.
"Our new Data Residency option is built to fulfill the rapid cybersecurity risk reduction needs of customers while meeting the strict standard of EU data privacy regulations," said Braden Russell, Chief Technology Officer, Bugcrowd.
"This configuration allows European customers and global organizations with an EU presence to benefit from the research, platform innovation, and support capabilities of a global cybersecurity leader while meeting regional requirements."
Bugcrowd stated that the new deployment is specifically targeted at organizations operating in highly regulated sectors, including government agencies, critical infrastructure providers, and financial services firms.
The company noted that these industries often require strict regional data handling controls and localized cybersecurity infrastructure.
The EU-hosted environment follows Bugcrowd’s recent FedRAMP Moderate Authorization in the United States and is designed to deliver the same platform performance and offensive security testing capabilities available globally.
Bugcrowd cited increasing geopolitical and regulatory concerns driving demand for localized cloud and security infrastructure across Europe.
According to the company, organizations are seeking ways to balance compliance requirements with access to global cybersecurity expertise and innovation.
"According to a Gartner survey of IT leaders in Western Europe, 61% said geopolitical factors will increase their reliance on local or regional cloud providers, while 53% said geopolitics will restrict their organizations' future use of global cloud providers," said George Papakyriakopoulos, CISO, Skroutz.
"As a Bugcrowd customer, this new regional option directly addresses these concerns by providing the local storage we need while maintaining access to a global crowd of researchers."
Bugcrowd stated that the Data Residency Option for the EU is expected to reach full availability by July 1.
The company said the launch represents a broader effort to scale global cybersecurity operations while helping organizations address regional compliance obligations and evolving cyber risk challenges.
Bugcrowd added that it remains focused on combining AI-driven security intelligence with human expertise to help enterprises proactively identify and reduce real-world cybersecurity threats.
