Zoho Corporation, a global leader in SaaS solutions, has announced a significant expansion of its AI capabilities with the launch of Zia LLM, a proprietary large language model designed for enterprise use. Unveiled at the Zoholics India conference in Bengaluru on July 17, 2025, this development includes a suite of AI-driven tools aimed at enhancing business workflows while prioritizing data privacy. The announcement underscores Zoho’s commitment to delivering innovative, in-house technology tailored for organizational efficiency.
Zoho launches Zia LLM, a proprietary large language model with 1.3B, 2.6B, and 7B parameters.
Zia Agents offer over 25 pre-built AI assistants for tasks like sales, support, and HR.
Zia Agent Studio enables no-code creation of custom AI agents for business needs.
Model Context Protocol (MCP) server integrates Zoho’s actions with third-party tools.
Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) models support English and Hindi speech-to-text.
Data privacy is prioritized, keeping customer data on Zoho’s secure servers.
Zoho’s Zia LLM, built from scratch using NVIDIA’s AI-accelerated computing platform, is designed for business-specific use cases such as structured data extraction, summarization, and code generation. Available in three model sizes—1.3 billion, 2.6 billion, and 7 billion parameters—Zia LLM optimizes performance and resource efficiency, ensuring scalability for diverse enterprise needs. The model is currently undergoing internal testing across Zoho’s extensive app portfolio and will be available to customers in the coming months, with plans to scale model sizes by the end of 2025.
“Zia LLM is built to serve enterprise needs from the ground up. Tailored for businesses, not consumers,” says Mani Vembu, Chief Executive Officer, Zoho Corp.
Zoho’s AI suite includes Zia Agents, a collection of over 25 pre-built, task-specific AI assistants integrated into Zoho’s ecosystem. These agents address functions like sales development, customer support, and account management. For example, the Customer Service Agent for Zoho Desk processes incoming requests, understands context, and either responds directly or escalates to human representatives, streamlining support operations. Another notable agent, the Revenue Growth Specialist, identifies upsell and cross-sell opportunities, enhancing marketing strategies.
Zia Agent Studio, a no-code platform, allows businesses to create custom AI agents with access to over 700 actions across Zoho’s applications. This prompt-based tool simplifies agent deployment, enabling automation through button clicks or rule-based triggers. The Zia Agent Marketplace, a dedicated section within Zoho Marketplace, offers these pre-built and custom agents for quick deployment, fostering collaboration with ecosystem partners and developers.
The introduction of Zoho’s MCP server enhances interoperability by providing access to a rich action library across 15+ Zoho applications. This allows third-party tools to integrate seamlessly while respecting user-defined permissions, making Zoho’s AI ecosystem more flexible and adaptable for businesses.
Zoho also rolled out proprietary Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) models for English and Hindi, optimized for low computational load with up to 75% better performance than industry benchmarks. These models enable efficient speech-to-text conversion, with plans to expand language support to include additional Indian and European languages in the future.
“Today’s announcement emphasizes Zoho’s longstanding aim to build foundational technology focused on protection of customer data, breadth and depth of capabilities, and value,” said Mani Vembu, CEO at Zoho.
Unlike many AI providers, Zoho ensures data privacy by hosting Zia LLM on its own servers across the US, India, and Europe. The model was trained using publicly available and privately annotated data, avoiding the use of customer data. This approach aligns with Zoho’s privacy-first philosophy, allowing businesses to leverage advanced AI without compromising sensitive information.
Zoho’s latest AI advancements position it as a leader in the enterprise SaaS space, offering businesses powerful, privacy-focused tools to drive automation and efficiency. With a roadmap that includes expanding language support and introducing a reasoning language model, Zoho continues to innovate for global and regional markets.
With 55+ apps in nearly every major business category, Zoho Corporation is one of the world's most prolific technology companies. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, with international headquarters in Chennai, India, Zoho is privately held and profitable with more than 18,000 employees.
